cruwer
Hi guys, I buyed a notebook that have 8Gb on-board RAM Memory installed. According to CPU-Z it has this settings: Type: DDR3 Size: 8078 MBytes DRAM Frequency: 798.7 MHz FSB:DRAM: 1:6 CL: 11 tRCD: 11 tRP: 11 tRAS: 28 CR: 1T This system is a Intel I7-3635QM with the HM76 chipset and has one RAM free slot. I was looking for a memory module to install and make a pair with the on-board memory and found this model at sale with a good price (here in Brazil: Model: CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10 Frequency: 1600MHz Slot: DDR-3 Latency: 10-10-10-27 Voltage: 1.5V Did someone knows if this module will work in my system? Another question, there is possible to install a 16GB module instead of a 8Gb and get a total of 24GB of RAM? Regards,
wytnyt
the memory size depends on how much your notebook supports and also strongly suggested to replace in matched sets rather than individual chips
cruwer
Thank you for the help wytnyt, I already checked at Samsung's web site, and confirmed that this notebook comes with 1 module of 8Gb RAM soldered in the motherboard, and in the manual, it informs that this equipment supports a total of 16Gb of RAM (installing the 1x 8gb module on the free slot).
