Hydro H100 push/pull in Obsidian Series 650D

Is there room enough to mount a H100 in a push/pull configuration (2 fans at the top, and 2 fans at the bottom) within a Obsidian Series 650D case ?

And in case this will fit into the case, do I have to put 4 identical fans ?

Identical fans are always recommended. If you can't do that, at least make sure the fan on the pull side is the same as the fan on the push side.

RAM Guy, is your response based on having done it? I think it's barely possible based on my measurements, but I don't have an H100 to actually confirm it.

Yes I have and its a tight fit and with some MB's it may not be possible but it will work with most.

I came across this at overclock.net. It appears you won't be able to do P/P with the Asus P8P67/Z68 boards. Keep in mind that P/P is going to make practically no difference on a radiator as thin as this one, not to mention the fans supplied with the H100 have excellent static pressure. Several people have tried P/P and reported only 1C improvement at best. If you did want something more than a single 25mm fan, you could always try a 38mm fan!

I hope Corsair takes this into consideration on future case designs. In my opinion, the lack of space up top is the biggest flaw in the 650D. Don't get me wrong - the only reason I'm so critical of the 650D is because I like it sooo much. It's so very close to being the perfect computer case. I'm extremely happy with mine!

on another forum a member said it was not possible on a maximus iv extreme mobo.

I wish it was.

That was me :)

And no, I could not use 4 120x25mm fans with the H100 with this mobo, Because 2 of the fans would not fit due to the mobos location of the 8pin EPS cable. I had to get 120x20mm fans in order to do a P/P.

I see what you have here is something that is shipping now to my adress :)

So why dod you put fans up, blowing into cooler and case?

I was thinking about p/p fans outside and that single 120mm to blow to inside.. but with that mbo, that will not be posible. So what do? Find 4x20mm fans or just reguar 2x25mm? I want qouiet pc, so teel me how to manage airflow and what fans are the best replacement fans for my h100 and 650d+asus z68-v pro...

Thanx

I just wanted to update this thread with a solution I found for the issue the poster above was having.

I was able to get the H100 to fit using push pull in my 650d using the Asus P8Z68 deluxe and Gentle Typhoon AP-15 fans. Using the normal mounting holes in the top of the case there was not room for the 8pin connector to clear the lower fan. I was able to mount the H100 offcenter and further away from the mother board using holes in the grates on the top of the case. In the first one you can see where I mounted the H100. The 8pin clears pretty easily.

You Absolute legend, iv got two corsair sp120's on the way over and was about to have the exact same problem. You've just saved me hours of F#%ing about. i Have a coolmaster 200mm blue fan in the mail too (if that is the same fan in your pic?), heard rumors that i couldn't change the stock over. Did you have to do any modding + is your h100 bodge giving you any unwanted case/fan noise?
