AndreyGG
Hello. Is this the original firmware? http://i6.5cm.ru/i/8hdv.png http://i6.5cm.ru/i/EcdD.png
Toasted
It's most likely original. Firmware versions may differ from other SSD models due to different bill of materials.
AndreyGG
Thank you, I will hope that this is so, a support still silent. http://blog.kaspersky.com/equation-hdd-malware/
Wired
If malware could rewrite the firmware, don't you think they could also rewrite the version number to be whatever they wanted? Even that article you linked to mentions that it's a major pain in the *** to do this type of infection. You're worried about nothing.
karakarga07
5.41 and 5.40 firmwares are "so called" original! 5.41 and 5.40 firmware owners are facing with this unknown version problem. Silly Corsair, doesn't update to newer versions after 5.24 firmware. Inside electronics are possibly Chinese origin, maybe there are different internal electronic plate versions. They do not know! in which model stays, inside.... Don't worry, there is no intrusion to your firmware outside!
karakarga07
I will not buy another Corsair SSD because of this issue in the future!
karakarga07
By the way, majority of Corsair SSD's have no onboard cache, but their price are not much lower. Which is also a bad thing!
