Vengeance 2000 annoying static in and out

Hello everyone,

I'm not exactly sure how to describe it but short of taking this headset back I figure this is worth a shot. Recently bought the Corsair Vengeance 2000 headset. I can't seem to figure out what's happening, I've been googling and playing with my sound for freaking ages and I'm tired.

What keeps happening is, I start her up and the sound is crystal clear, perfect and lovely for about 10 minutes. I play games with youtube music playing, maybe this is my problem, hmm. I use hd youtube so the sound quality should be good right? Anyway it just starts to cut in and out. Not completely, like it doesn't cut off it just goes dim and then loud and then dim again. On/off every 2-4 seconds and it's driving me insane. I've redone drivers, disable and enabled everything. I don't think it's the mic and I don't hear myself talk. It's as if it's out of sync or something.

Any help is muchly appreciated, ta! :)
