Mike_Lang
I'm having the same problem with a nearly identical build - Sabertooth X79, i7-3820, but a slightly different SKU for the RAM - the individually packed 8GB DIMMS. I turn on the power and the CPU LED flashes and then the DRAM LED stays continously lit. It does it whether I have all 8 DIMMS in, or if I've just installed one in the ASUS recommended D1 slot. The MEM OK button makes the board go through about 3-4 power on-off cycles and then I'm back looking at the continuous DRAM LED. With no memory in, the board gives the expected "memory issue" beep code. I've tried clearing the CMOS, I've swapped the chip, and I've swapped the MOBO, all with no luck so far. I think I've even tried each of the 8 DIMMs I've got, one at a time. Nothing works. My system's now at Microcenter getting a diagnostic done. Have you had any luck? Wired
Are all 8 sticks they the same version number?
peanutz94
It's never recomended to mix memory like that. Even two sets of the exact same part number can cause instability. And you , for all purposes are using 8 diffeent sticks that have not been tested with each other. Really your best bet would be to replace those individual sticks for a complete tested kit. Mike_Lang
??? Mixed version number? Yes. They're all the same SKU: CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10. Microcenter said that once they'd applied a BIOS update to the Sabertooth board, it got through POST. So my problems probably solved

Wired
Just as an FYI, CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 is the part number, not the version number.
