SP120 Quiet ed. PWM fans not showing RPM, running full speed

i researched this and it seems to be a common problem with no solution. it's hard to believe that Corsair produced so many useless fans.

i bought 6 twin packs for a water cooling build. that's 12 fans in all. so far I have tried 8 of them on my Asus X99 Deluxe board and it just wont read the RPM. and I can't control the fan speed. as far as my motherboard is concerned there is nothing connected to those headers but the fans are blowing 100%.

i also have Phanteks, Noctua, Arctic Cooling, Cougar and the stock fans that come with the Corsair H110 cooler. they ALL report RPM just fine on all headers.

is there something that can be done? or do i really have to fill out a half dozen RMA forms? i already dropped enough money on the fans. i'm not about to spend another $50 on low noise adapters.

I have never heard of this before. Can you direct me to where else you've seen this problem so I can compile it and forward it to the product manager?

and that's just on your own forum. there is a ton more on at other places and on amazon's reviews. when i stop being lazy i'll look for links from 3rd party forums.
