In trying to consolidate the firmware threads we have listed out as much information as what we have available at the moment.

1. Shipping Firmware Revision (Corsair Link)

  1. Commander = 1.1.9
  2. Lighting Node = 1.1.9
  3. Cooling Node = 1.1.12

2. Shipping Firmware Revisions (Hydro Series)

  1. H80 = 1.0.13 (First release)
  2. H100 = 1.0.18 (First Release)
  3. H80/H100 = 1.1.12 (All current shipping units)

3. Firmware Updates

  1. Corsair Link – 1.2.0 was briefly released and some people have downloaded it with mixed results. We have updated units internally with no problems, however, it has since been replaced with version 1.1.9/1.1.12 and a new version may replace this if needed once final testing is complete. If you currently have 1.2.0 installed and have no issues there is no reason to change the firmware version.
  2. Hydro Series – 1.1.12 is the latest Firmware at this time. This revision works with Corsair Link out of the box and you should not get the “Update your H80/H100 to version 1.1” message.

4. Update Procedure

  1. This is where it gets tricky; at this time there is NO official documentation on this process. This is what worked for us in the lab testing.

On the main screen under the “Tools” drop down menu select the “Device Management” option. This should bring up a separate dialog box that shows you all connected Corsair Link devices and the current firmware installed on them.

Click on the “Check for Updates” button and it will contact the Corsair servers and check for updated firmware. (See above section for conformation as we have seen some cases of it not seeing an update for H80/H100). If an update is available for a specific part a “Download” button will appear on the device box. Click on the “Download” button and it will ask you to save the firmware file to your computer.

Once you have the file downloaded you can click the “Update Firmware” button to bring up a separate dialog box. This has a couple items that you have to fill out correctly for it to work. Since it is not listed anywhere we put it here for reference. The device is directly linked to a specific file. Please note if you have the wrong file or device and it will not flash. And to get to the attached devices to the Link commander in the update window click the arrow next to Corsair Commander and you will see the attached devices like Cooling Node and Lighting Node.

Device = File Name

Corsair Commander = CorsairLinkUSBFW

Corsair Cooling Node = CorsairCoolingFW

Corsair Lighting Node = CorsairLightingFW

Corsair H80/H100 = CorsairHydroFW

Select the device from the drop down menu that you want to flash and then select the file that corresponds with that device. When you have the correct file/device selected hit the “Start” button.

The status text menu will start telling you what it is doing. Most importantly it will tell you the percentage complete and the all wonderful “Status: Bootloader Done”.

On the H80/H100 units we tested it took a few seconds and the boxes pop up on the main screen. The rest of the items were already showing up and nothing changed. The Commander we tested actually required us to unplug it from the internal USB plug/header, leaving it off for a few seconds, and then plugging it back in to show back up in the software after we started it up.

We will try to get some screen shots to give a better idea, but that will take a few to get set up. Hopefully this might help anyone who has questions.

EDIT Update:

The cooling Node has had two Firmware updates

Cooling Node F/W 1.2.5 Enabled Support for PWM Fans

Cooling Node F/W 1.2.11 Enabled support for New Products Not yet named.
