i just noticed today that my h80i gt pump is not recognized anymore.

i guess i cant really point out to the day its stopped recognizing it because i noticed it by coincidence today.

it shows Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) in the device manager.

i tried to unplugging it, connect it to another usb header, and also tried ab external usb port, but nothing helped.

in on win 10 x64, mb: z97a 3.1.

any tips would be appreciated.

  1. Add all you PC specs to your profile rather than posting some of them.
  2. Which of the four Windows 10 releases do you have? Specify the build number.
  3. When was it last recognised?
  4. What has happened since then?
  5. Have you disabled fan control for the CPU_FAN header in the BIOS? If not then do so.
  6. In Device Manager Right/Click on the device and select Uninstall
  7. Shut down the system and unplug it for 2 minutes.
  8. Power it up and hope !
  9. Post the whole of [Link Devices] + [uSB Bus]

Looking at [Link Devices] a H80iGT is not reported which means it was never installed and working as it should. There should at least be ghost device as there is for the RM750i. BTW press [uninstall] to remove it.

I suspect there is a hardware issue with the H80iGT and you will have to RMA it. Log a call via https://corsair.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp and see what they say. Remember to upload the original invoice.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've had a similar issue with a H110iGT after updating link recently.

The same failed enumeration in multiple usb ports and after multiple restarts and many device uninstalls and scans for new devices.

It was red-rays steps 6-8 to uninstall in device manager, then shutdown and power off fully for two minutes that brought it back.

I didn't think those steps would make a difference, but its back now, so those steps are worth trying if anyone else is seeing the same issue.

It does seem to be an issue that pops up a bit from my searches.

Thanks red-ray.
