ASROCK P55DE3 MOBO BSOD Problems

Hello all, this is my first post in this forum! I had a question for all you PC builders out there. I currently have an ASROCK P55DE3 MOBO which says it supports DDR3 2400+(OC)/2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory.

I had 4GB in it and am consistently getting low on memory errors so I wanted to upgrade to 16GB.

I originally bought:

CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory 1.5V.

When I put in the new sticks, I would just get a blank screen. After some searching, some people have said that this MOBO only supports a max of 4GB per slot (16GB Capacity with 4 DIMM slots).

I then ordered some Patriot Viper3 RAM (4x4GB 1600 DDR3). No matter what I did, when entering these sticks I'd get constant BSOD after BIOS prompts. Windows wouldn't even start! Errors like "irql_not_less_or_equal" or "Bad_Pool_Caller".

I returned that set and have ordered this set:

CMX16GX3M4A1333C9 XMS3 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz C9 Memory Kit 1.5V.

Do you all think that this set will work with my system without any issues?

The reason I ask is because my Motherboard specs show that it supports non-ECC RAM unbuffered and I can't tell if this replacement set is non-ECC.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Jmuduke,

Sorry for the late reply. All of our memory is non-ECC, but the P55 platform requires low-density memory meaning that all 16 memory IC slots are populated on a module. If there are only 8 memory ICs, either 4 on both sides or 8 on one side, unfortunately that XMS kit will not work for that motherboard.
