corsair 70 rgb profiles stop working randomly

I just got my corsair k70 rgb and installed the rainbow going across the keyboard, but it randomly stops and seems to stop my mouse from being able to move as well. I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem was and the fix.

Does it happen when you always use a specific program or perform an intensive task that uses a lot of CPU %?

IT happens randomly, even while just browsing YouTube. I can try and see if this happens with any other profiles.

edit: my computer got a bluescreen while using a rainbow and a different profile while playing rocket league.
