ACP
Hi Everyone, I have both the h110i cooler and hx850i psu and they both connect to my only two internal motherboard usb headers. Since my mobo only has two of them is it possible to somehow connect both using only one internal header? I know my hx850i has additional connections that the h110i doesnt have. If anyone has ever done this please let me know what I need and how to do it if possible. Thanks!
red-ray
There is no such cooler as a H110i. Is it a GT or GTX? Either way see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=759585 for two options.
ACP
sorry its the GT
ACP
Hey thanks for your help.....I ended up getting the nzxt usb expansion module but im having problems installing it with my intel dz77ga-70l board. I plugged in the nzxt module into one of my usb internal headers then i plugged in both my h110i gt & hx850i headers into the module. Upon restart i immediately got that new device message that wouldnt go away. I was looking up the error message and seen your post on how to delete the line in the regedit folder inorder for corsair link to work. After following this it did not work with the cooler & psu plugged into the nzxt module. I opened corsair link and nothing was being detected. I then took out the module and plugged everything back directly into the motherboard, followed the regedit instructions and voila everything back to normal. How did you get your nzxt module to work with the corsair cooler & psu? is there something else i have to do in regedit to get this to work? im debating on returning this for the corsair commander mini but I dont think that would fix the problem as i cannot plug my h110i gt into it, only my hx850i would work. please let me know if you have any solutions. Thanks!
red-ray
I expect you have multiple Corsair Integrated USB Bridges in the registry and wonder you edited the wrong one. If you reconnect using the IU01 and post the [uSB Bus] + [Link Devices] screen shots from my SIV utility I suspect I will be able to figure out what happened and what you need to do. ACP
ok so you just want me to take a screen shot of the registry? everything thats in here System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_1B1C&PID_0C04? i believe yesterday i had 3 folders but ill double check
ACP
I know you don't have my board but I have a usb 2.0 high current connector header beside my two usb internal headers... If I plug my hx850i into that do you think it work? I'm not sure what the difference between a header and connector as I never used this? Or I was think maybe a usb 3.0 to 2.0 adapter cable would possibly work?
red-ray
If you wish me to help post the SIV [uSB Bus] + [Link Devices] screen shots as I asked rather than asking yet more questions.
ACP
Ok but what are the siv screen shots? Sorry I'm too software savy :)... Is it what I posted earlier with the regedit dir?
red-ray
You have not posted any screen shots. Examples of what they report are in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=784898. There is a SIV guide, see http://rh-software.com/Using%20SIV%20to%20Control%20Corsair%20Link%20Hardware.pdf
ACP
Hi there, Here is the screen shot. I have left my h110i gt on the mobo usb header but i plugged my hx850i into the nzxt module connected to the 2nd internal mobo header. http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w465/anthony_palermo11/NZXT%20installed_zpsiqqpxdno.png

red-ray
Thank you, the screen shot confirms what I suspected about there being several Windows Ghost devices. Do you still wish to connect both the H110iGT + HX850i to the NZXT IU01? If so swap the hardware around and then look at [Link Devices]. A different Corsair Integrated USB Bridge will be on-line and if you close REGEDIT (if open) and then press the green blob below it this will open REGEDIT at the correct location to delete SelectiveSuspendEnabled. When you delete it [Link Devices] will automatically update. I suspect it would be wise to delete all the Windows Ghost HID devices, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/315539 (XP and later all much the same). From SIV doing Menu->Manage->Devices automatically does the devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1. The ghosts are the lighter ones. I pressed the [Link Devices] [Restart] button to set the sensible names so I could easily tell which device is which.
ACP
sorry i just added the usb bus screen shot....i just wish to connect the hx850i for now to the IU01. Do I still following the same thing?
red-ray
Given it's working you don't need to do anything, though I would delete the ghosts.
ACP
so I just deleted the regedit from the screen shot but it is still not working....did i delete the right entry? my hx850i is still not showing any readings in Corsair link http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w465/anthony_palermo11/deleted%20usb_zpsvqhjmors.png
red-ray
so I just deleted the regedit from the screen shot but it is still not working....did i delete the right entry? my hx850i is still not showing any readings in Corsair link What is it? I can't see your screen so I can only guess what you mean. I can see you deleted SelectiveSuspendEnabled, why? The issue could be either down to a CL software issue or the hardware not being installed/setup correctly. What do you think it is? Are you using CL 3.2.5742? I assume so, but... If you exit both CL + SIV then run SIV and post [Link Status] I would know more. Next exit SIV and run CL the post a the CL screen shot. If I could see what you are doing then I suspect it would be easy for us to sort things out, but I can't. We could use Skype, see https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10215/how-do-i-share-my-screen-in-skype-for-windows-desktop
ACP
ok here is the link status in siv with no corsair link running and here is just CL http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w465/anthony_palermo11/link%20status_zpshep8f1xg.png http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w465/anthony_palermo11/CL_zpsi7gnqoaw.png also here is the url of the screen you couldnt see....I deleted the SelectiveSuspendEnabled, from what i circled as that what i thought you want me to do...do I screw something up for this not to work? http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w465/anthony_palermo11/deleted%20usb_zpsvqhjmors.png
red-ray
Thank you. [Link Status] reported both the H100iGT + HX850i perfectly so the hardware must be working and the issue is down to the CL software. Uninstall CL, reboot, install CL 3.2.5742 and see what happens. Check both the System and Power tabs. I suspect CL got confused when you installed the IU01 and all the PNP IDs changed. I think the issue is basically the same as described in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141043.
ACP
Ok thanks i will try that.....but can you please tell me if i screwed something up with the registry when I deleted SelectiveSuspendEnabled...i just checked regedit and it didnt come back after a restart...sorry im always a little nervous when i go into the registry. Thanks
red-ray
can you please tell me if i screwed something up with the registry when I deleted SelectiveSuspendEnabled. I think it's OK as SIV reported the CL hardware OK. When I deleted it CL put it back as I stated in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=822047. As to why if didn't on your system I have no real idea as CL is not my software. You need to ask Corsair. I feel needing to edit the registry at all to get CL to work is rather poor, especially as I reported this issue to Corsair before CL 3.2.5742 was even released :asskick:
