esse09
Hello all, i am about to buy a Obsidian 550D case but one of the review online mentioned of a space issue where the recessed motherboard tray will block the bottom row of 90 degree mounted Sata ports on the motherboard. Since this issue came up only in one review i suppose it was a problem limited to the specific motherboard but just to be sure before i buy... did any of you actual owners had problems with your Sata connectors? Thanks a lot, Andrea
stratosrally
If you let us know which motherboard you plan on installing we can let you know if you will have an issue. Typically you won't have an issue with a standard ATX-sized model.
esse09
Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe or Pro, 12x9.6 inches - ATX. Thanks, i would find it very strange if such a flaw were in a corsair product.
stratosrally
In this review of those boards: http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=1517&page=6 They show the SATA ports as being very high up and well away from the lower right corner of the motherboard. This would make them even less likely to give you problems. As far as I know, the only issue is with some larger than ATX motherboards with their SATA connectors all the way down at the lower right corner - it is possible for the connectors on the very bottom to be blocked by the curve in the recessed area of the motherboard mounting plate in the case. Even in those cases, certain aftermarket SATA cables can often fix the problem.
