ThatMateDave
Hi All, I am just in the process of upgrading to ASRock AB350 Pro4 ATX and a Ryzen 5 1600 but can't seem to pin down a definitive DDR4 RAM kit to buy! I am using it for moderate gaming so not looking for super high end gear at 2 x 4GB sticks so found: Corsair CMK8GX4M2A2400C14 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) Vengeance LPX DDR4 Memory Kit - Black Have been going mad to try and check if these will work - apologies if it's an easy miss on my part
diachka
You should be more accurate in memory choice. Performance increase from 2400 to 3200 will boost Ryzen by approx. 10%-15% in most scenarios. https://www.eteknix.com/memory-speed-large-impact-ryzen-performance/ Because this revision of ryzen CPU have poor overcklocked potencial, this could be the only way to get max from your AMD system. ThatMateDave
Thanks, looking at the boards site only 3000 Corsair RAM officially supported is: CMD32GX4M4B3000C15 (Hynix-A) / (Hynix-M) Which according to Amazon is Dominator Platinum, not sure how to check Hynix A or M though! There is 3000 Vengence RAM but annoyingly not listed as supported :(
diachka
Wait for new AGESA, AMD swear that this version will solve compatibility and OC problems for Hynix chips and much more. If not, then try to sell this kit, and buy ryzen recommended. Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 ver4.31 only Corsair CMD16GX4M2B3200C16 ver4.31 only or other brands. There is also Corsair Dominator 3600 MHz CL16 CMD32GX4M4B3600C16 8Gb Samsung B-Die Single Single, but this kit too expensive and for some reason doesn't have 16Gb analogue. Raven22
There are notes on the ASRock "Note6: Each RAM whose frequency is 3000 will downgrade to 2933 with AB350 Pro4." "Note7: Each RAM whose frequency is 2800 will downgrade to 2666 with AB350 Pro4." And they note only SS mem sticks over 3000 and not much over 16g of ram I will be trying 16g in 2 8g sticks of CMU16GX4M2C3000C15 I guess this may be slightly uncharted territory for the ASRock board, I will update when the build is done.
