kenny69
My H80i recently broke and I received the new H80i GT as the replacement. I noticed in corsair link it only shows 1 fan "H80iGT Cooler Fan" when before, with the H80i I used to be able to control both fans. Is this normal? I have the fans plugged into the leads from the cooling block instead of directly to the motherboard. I'm unsure if this is how I had it set up last time. Are there any advantages/disadvantages of plugging it directly to the motherboard vs how I have it now?
red-ray
All Asetek coolers such as the H80iGT only have one fan controller, so only report one of the fan speeds. See http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=795986.

See http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=795986. Both fans are still being controlled though right? I noticed that my H80i GT is MUCH quieter at the same settings as my old H80i, not sure what the RPM was on my old one though, but looks like the RPM on my fans right now don't go over ~1600

On my H80iGT the fan speed range is as below.
