PShooter1337
Hello, My neighbourhood has flaky electricity, so about a week ago I bought an APC Back-UPS 1000VA power supply. There was a power outage today for about 10-15 seconds, at which point the UPS transferred to battery power. I noticed that both the UPS and the PSU (TX650W) were emmitting a loud buzzing noise, which went away once the PSU was transferred back onto AC power. I've read that this buzzing is because the UPS outputs a stepped-approximation sine wave, rather than a true sine wave. Will this cause any damage to the PSU or any of my PC components? Thanks! timmyisme22
Think of it like a warning alarm to save any and all progress and power down (for long storms or issues that is) before losing anything.
