These are the specs i7 3770 MSI GTX 970 4GB 16 gb (8+8) Hyper X RAM B75M-D3H Gigabyte Motherboard 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 ATA Device (SATA) 111GB KINGSTON SV300S37A120G ATA Device (SSD) CX600 80+ Bronze PSU The problem is: I can't go over my budget anymore and I have realized that I shouldn't have bought the CX600 as my PSU, since it's not built for high end gaming. My questions are: Can I still use this PSU for a year or more before upgrading the PSU? Am I risking other components if I keep using this rig for gaming? If this PSU fails, will it possibly damage other components? I don't have the receipt anymore, so I can't return it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you go SLI in the future with that card, then you probably need to 700 watts. No, you're not risking any hardware with that PSU. I couldn't think of any technical reason why it would be a risk to begin with. That CX is more than capable for that set up. CX600 has built in fail-safe like Over/Under-Voltage Protection, Over-Temperature Protection, Over-Power Protection, etc. These protections are in place to protect the components in your system.
