Ram dimm version issue

Hi guys

Be so kind and give me your opinion on the following issue:

I have an Asus mb P6TD Deluxe (has 2 triple channels 6slots for dimms)and I use to have 3x2G CM3X2G1600C8D v3.1 and v3.2 dmms working fine.

I added 2x2G CM3X2G1600C8D v.5.2 working fine 10G in total.

The settings for all dimms I use are: 1600 8-8-8-24 1.65v

I try to add one more CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 v7.1 but it is not recognized.

I cleared the mb's rtc ram and default config in bios with all auto.

Try to fit one single CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 on first triple channel not working.

Fit two CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 one on each first channel slot not working.

MB won't boot. This mb can boot with one dimm where ever you fit it.

From my little experience the memory dimm version v3.1 or v7.1 has to do with the actual chipset used to manufacture the dimms and the should work even if you mix them they just have to have the same settings (frequency timing voltage)

My question are:

Why I can't even fit a single CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 v7.1 1600 8-8-8-24 1.65v?

Do you think both dimms v7.1 are faulty (bought from ebay) or there is an incombustibility issue that I'm not aware off?

I would appreciate you comments.

Thank you in advance

Kind reagrds

Yannis

The system did not start even with only one or two of the Ver7.1 modules installed in the recommended slots?

I personally never had any issues with my Corsair Ver7.1 (Powerchip 1Gbit) modules on any DFI, Gigabyte or MSI X58 motherboard. This includes several types of Dominator GT and CMGTX. So from my experience the kit should be compatible.

Do you by chance have access to another system to test them in?
