Administrators Technobeard Posted July 5, 2014 Administrators Share Posted July 5, 2014 It's due to the Marvell SATA III port you're using. Nothing you can do aside from upgrading your motherboard.

Lady Fitzgerald
It's due to the Marvell SATA III port you're using. Nothing you can do aside from upgrading your motherboard. Ok, this is probably staring me in the face I'm just not seeing it (it happens a lot at my age) but how did you determine the OP has the SSD connected to a Marvel SATA III port and not to one of the SATA II ports? bogdan_kr
Because of the ATTO speeds that seems to be typical for Marvell SATA III controller and are (read speeds) too high for SATA II controller ;-)

Toasted
Did you plug the SSD into the Intel or ASMedia chipset? If it's the ASMedia Chipset, plug it into the Intel SATA III port and test the drive again. Yellowbeard
Unless you are doing huge file transfers multiple times daily, I would not bother with a PCI-e card. Just use the drive on the Intel controller on your current MOBO. It will still be VERY fast.
