cm_junk
I'm looking into building a new rig soon and I'm considering my case options. I love the look of the white 500R but the convex side panels really annoy me. I see that Corsair offers solid side panel replacements for $20 but they still have that odd convex shape. Will Corsair be offering a revision of the 500R sometime in the near future with solid flat panels? Or are there any third-party flat panels that are compatible? stratosrally
They are there for additional CPU heatsink and cable routing clearance - as well as for styling. I seriously doubt they will bring out a revision with flat panels as that would actually subtract features that are important to many buyers. You could always cut the raised section out and get a huge window put in on one side and a riveted plate on the other - might be a nifty looking solution... parsec
Thank Gawd for the extra space provided by the non-flat side panels in a 500R! Hiding and running cables behind the right side panel is very simple with their design, there is never enough space on most cases.
