Not sure how your prior experience differ but I don't think you have to worry about that. But you can add you own SSD in there if you would like, there's an empty slot for a 2.5" drive. I view the Samsung label as a warning to stay far away, very far away. So the problem is the fact there are Samsung parts in the machine to begin with. So it is a no go for me. Regardless of your past issues, I hope you take heart from the fact that so many of us use the Samsung M.2 drives without any issue or problems.
