asusboy
Anybody know whats the overclock speed achieved with the A7N8X-E Deluxe + 2x512mb TwinX pc3200XL with the 2-2-2-5 timing. I manage to get the 2-2-2-5 timing by default when you put them in on my mobo  A7N8X-E Deluxe amd 2500+ barton (oc 11x200) 3200+ 2x512mb twinX pc3200xl 2-2-2-5 Q-tec 400w psu Radeon 9600xt
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 12, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 12, 2004 Please see this post on ASUSForums.org and read the last post. In addition after you flash the bios I would load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and then set the timings manually to Cass 2-3-2-5 as well. But this MB may not run as well as the Non -E version of the MB has run! However, with relaxed timings it does seem to over clock well!
asusboy
Using a fsb 208.8x11 2296.8mhz v2.8(memory) 2-2-2-5 24C/75F(memory), seem stable and ran memtest86 4 time passed error free. Gonna try push abit more. What the disadvantage using v2.8 instead of v2.7? Are the corsair pc3500 bh-5 better then pc3200xl? If i use Cass 2-3-2-5, then shouldn't i use pc3200ll instead of pc3200xl? No real disadvantage that I know of using the higher voltage, as they're still under warranty at that voltage. 3500 vs 3200XL? It's a really tough call. In 3200LL vs 3200XL, I'd go with 3200XL because of the ICs they use.
CandyKid
Actually, I think the IC's on the XL modules are in many ways the better of the 3500's BH-5 chips. They run the same tight timings and seem to overclock even better! PLUR CK
