alephnull
I have 2 x 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 (1.5v), and 2 x 8GB 2400MHz DDR3 (1.65v) I can either put all four of them together, and get 32GB at 1600MHz, or I can use the 16GB at 2400Mhz keeping the 1600MHz as spare. Any advantage for either options? Any opinions on which config should I keep? I also read recently the opinions are swinging from "RAM speed doesn't matter" to "RAM speed matters for newer games", which might be a reason to . Is there any benefit to 32GB over 16GB if I don't make use of it directly - e.g. the may be OS optimizes or caches more? I mostly use the computer to play games (Windows 10) as the most demanding task. I also use the computer occasionally for development of codes sometimes. ozelot.junior
Speed only matters in games which are likely to run into a CPU limit. ARMA is a good example.
