Anyone run the 460X without the front filter so the front is clear?

Wondering if there's anyone out there who runs the Corsair 460X without the front filter hex panel thing or with some other sort of mod that leaves the front filtered but without the hex pattern thing in the way. I think the front would look much cleaner without it.

 

I found a post on here but can't seem to find out again, a rep said that the filter is needed as it contains mounting holes for the front panel? I wasn't really seeing what difference it makes as the filter just has pass through holes and no threading.

 

At the least, if you want to leave the front filtered but un-adulterated by the hexagonal pattern this looks like a viable solution?

If you do end up purchasing that clear front dust filter then please post some pics, I'd be interested to see the result! For me, the hex design isn't that noticeable when the system is built and I like the design

If I was you I would stick with the corsair filter as it works very well,never run without one as the dust intake would be very bad for the components inside.
