RM850i upgrade compatibility

You could do a larger RMi series or, from what I understand, the new AX1600i. These use the Type 4/Generation 3 cables. The HX and AX series use the Type 3 cables, which wouldn't be compatible. Well, to be specific, the ATX, PCIe and CPU cables wouldn't be compatible. The peripheral cables would be.

See http://www.corsair.com/en-us/landing/psu-cable-compatibility.

Um, yeah, I'd like to know for sure before I pulled the trigger on the AX1600i.

Any idea where one might find one of these? I can't navigate through the store to a retailer who has one.

There was a post earlier where someone from Corsair said that they were the Gen 4 cables.

And they are hard to come by. Miners are buying them up.

Keep in mind ... you can get just the ATX and PCI cables alone as you'll be able to reuse the peripheral cables.

How much more power do you need? That RMi should be able to give you your current power usage. What does that top out at?

The challenge you'll have is that most > 1kW PSUs ... and especially efficient PSUs ... are getting snatched up by miners.
