Dynasty2201
I really find this baffling. What were Corsair thinking with this design? How my case looks: https://i.imgur.com/mJzwFE5.jpg How the case is advertised: https://images.esellerpro.com/2457/I/985/77/3.jpg Yeah that's not how mine looks as you can see. False advertising? This was bought brand new from Amazon UK, I see no reason why this SKU would be different to any model elsewhere??? I'm really disappointed. I can't raise the radiator higher due to the front panel cabling in the way from the top ports. Can't rotate it either as the tubes then make having a graphics card in place impossible, AND the Corsair logo on the CPU block would be upside down. I don't...this is the dumbest design that your own radiator doesn't fit your case. [Edit] After some digging and asking Reddit, people are saying I have a 460X not a 400C. But my case has the hinges for the side panel, so it's not a 460X. But it DOES have the 460X's front design: https://benchmarkreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/corsair_crystal_460x_rgb_front_filter.jpg This is some weird hybrid case or Corsair have changed their design recently. Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted December 18, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 18, 2017 That's odd, because we've seen hundreds of builds with this case/cooler combo and never ran into this issue. When you slide the rad up, there should be enough space between the rad and the front I/O cables. Can you please post a few photos of the top rad and the i/o cables? Let's see if we can figure out what's causing your rad to hit the i/o cables.
Dynasty2201
Will do this evening and post back, thanks. I wonder if there's been a change in the case design at the front, because mine is very, very different to the sort of "rails" design shown in the second picture. Users on Reddit are saying a mixture of "Yours doesn't look like my case" and others are saying it does. Seems like there's two differing designs out there for the same case. Dynasty2201
So. Here's the current clearance on my H100i with the top panel cables: https://i.imgur.com/345XXlc.jpg Inside the case, note the tube orientation: https://i.imgur.com/VzwiMKB.jpg What happens when I push the H100i as high up as possible, effectively pressing against the front panel cables at the top: https://i.imgur.com/3jJOthP.jpg And how the screws DON'T align whilst pushing upward: https://i.imgur.com/hOOGmtP.jpg This "new design" is, frankly, the dumbest thing I've ever experienced from Corsair. I've been Corsair loyal since the early mid 2000s and this is the first time I've questioned the company. Should I send the case back? IS THIS A NEW DESIGN? Because as my post above shows, my 400C's case front doesn't match the more logical layout of the 400C shown all over the net. Why is my 400C's case design different? Has there been an update? Is this a different or old or new SKU? Is it country specific? Part number of my case: CC-9011081-WW
Dynasty2201
So it turns out the 400C is now being produced with the 460X's chassis? Well thanks for the false advertising Corsair. I bought this case understanding I'd get the 400C's rail configuration, and my H100i would blatantly fit if it did have that configuration. Instead I now have a 460X with hinges for the glass side panel and the 400C's front cover. Thanks...I'm disgusted.
Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted January 3, 2018 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 3, 2018 Thanks for the photos, it clearly shows the issue that you're having fitting the H100i. To be perfectly honest, your issue is an isolated one. This is most likely a defect from the factory which rarely happens, but it happens nevertheless. I would suggest that you submit an RMA ticket as I am pretty sure our customer service dept will get your situation sorted out. Include the pics that you posted here and include the link of this thread as well for better explanation. And yeah, that wasn't a false advertising. Rolling changes does happen from time to time, as long that it doesn't change any features of the sku.
Chloru
Thanks for the photos, it clearly shows the issue that you're having fitting the H100i. To be perfectly honest, your issue is an isolated one. This is most likely a defect from the factory which rarely happens, but it happens nevertheless. I do have exactly the same issue fitting SilentLoop 240 made by bequiet. Looks like this is not an isolated issue. So far I just use 4 screws at mid and bottom of my radiator.
Sephiroth0
Hi, Same here. I got a 400C in white and the frame is identical to the one that Dynasty2201 has. I've squeezed in a H115i - I had to apply a lot of force to push it up in order to access the bottom and middle-bottom screw holes. Luckily it didn't damage the cables on top but I'm sure this is a design flaw on this case. The good news is that the dust filter fits without issues although I have used screws with washers that came with the H115i. But the product photos on Corsair's webpage are definitively wrong/obsolete. EDIT: Looking at the accessories it seems that Corsair has introduced this change by end of 2016: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-%7C-Parts/PC-Components/Cases/Carbide-400C-I-O-Panel%2C-White%2C-Late-2016/p/CC-8900055
Sephiroth0
Hi, Quick update: There are two solutions for this problem: 1.) Assemble the fans between radiator and front in push mode -> the gap between radiator and front will leave room for the I/O connector box. 2.) The USB cables on the I/O box are the critical ones. You can disassemble the box and cut away some outer isolation material in order to be able to bend the cable directly after leaving the box.
