Default Unable to power up 500r case

Hi, this is my first post here so hopefully is in the correct section.

I am building a rig with Corsair carbide 500r case and Asus Z77 maximus V gene mobo.

I can boot from the mobo on board power button, the power on button on the case is illuminated so I presume I have the power to the front case panel working correctly.

Do you think its probably the 2 pin pwrsw thats not seated correctly?

Also if anyone has the same setup do you have both the EATX12v and EATXPWR connected from your PSU.

Many Thanks

Default Resolved

I resolved the power on front panel problem, the lack of the 4 pin audio connector in the 500r confused me and I put the other connectors (pwrsw etc) in vertically instead of horizontally.

I resolved the other power connector query by looking at some pics from other peoples builds.

I now have a cpu fan error when booting...if anyone has a quick answer would be appreciated, in the meantime Ill have a look for the answer here. It might be a case of moving the cpu fan connectors from the H100 controller to the cpu fan connectors on the mobo.

Default Fan speed alarming

I moved the H100 fan connectors to the mobo cpu fan connectors, this has resolved the cpu fan error message on boot-up.

They now appear in the bios, but seem to be much noisier now - they are running at approx 2700rpm. I changed them back to the connection on the H100 and they were back to quiet, but got the error message back..LOL!!!

With both configurations the cpu and mobo temps were virtually identical, about 25 degrees.

Ever get the feeling your talking to yourself.

There should be a 3-pin connector coming out from the block with the molex connector, Plug the 3-pin connector to the CPU_FAN header. It should prevent the CPU_FAN error.

Default Thankyou Toasted

Hi Toasted,

Yes I did that yesterday having read the H100 installation blog on here.

It cleared the error, I had it connected to a regular CHA_FAN connection,
the error is cleared now although some fans have disappeared from the Bios
fan monitoring program.

The cpu is running at about 24c and the mobo at 20c....I havent been able to
put any load on the system yet as my OS hasnt arrived.

Also do you know what this connection CPU_OPT is for? located next to the CPU_FAN.

Thanks Toasted

CPU_OPT is like a second fan for a heatsink cooler.
