nfwego
I just put 12 GB of this memory in my GA-X58A-UD3r, and its coming up as 667MHZ. Obviously I need to change the settings/timings in the bios. Does anyone know the recommended settings for this MOBO? Or can send me a link for where they are posted.
peanutz94
Timings and voltages should be printed on the label on the RAM itself. Other than that there is no specific timings for any specific MB. But all you should have to do is enable XMP under the AI tweaker menu in the BIOS to get them running at 1600 MHZ.
nfwego
Thanks for responding. I am coming from ******** memory where I had to adjust a ton of settings in the BIOS, CMD rate tRFC, QPI/VTT voltage, DRAM voltage. So I will follow your instructions. Thank you. peanutz94
There is always the chance you have to do that with any brand memory. While XMP works for the vast majority, there are the few that it doesn't. In that case you would have to punch in timings and voltages manually.
