What happens with the Voyager GT 16 GB 3.0 when i plug in a 2.0 USB ?
Hi Guys!
First of all, thanks for letting me part of this community.
Im about to buy a new Pen Drive of Corsair Voyager, because i need High Speed Transfer. But theres a situation in it :
In my House, i have a USB 3.0 Motherboard, so i can fully use the pen drive with all his speed.
But in College, they have USb 2.0 only.
Obviously, i know that usb 3.0 works in usb 2.0, BUT,
The question is :
WILL I BE ABLE TO GET MORE SPEED IN USB 2.0 WITH THIS Flash Voyager Gt 16gb 3.0 Cmfvygt3-16gb THAN WITH , FOR INSTANCE, A ******** 8 GB?
Thats all i need to know. Or i should buy the corsair vengeance especifically for USB 2.0 ?
Thanks for answering. I will wait the answers before buying it.
Heres the links/info if needed :
Flash Voyager Gt 16gb 3.0 Cmfvygt3-16gb * The one i want to buy*

Any of our USB 3.0 Drive should be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and will work at USB 2.0 speeds.

Will Car A beat Car B? Who knows. You need to post the specs of the drive and how they tested it.

If you only need a 16GB USB, Go for the Flash Voyager.
There is a chart with the max read/write for each drive at the bottom of the product page.

However in a USB 2.0 Port you will be limited to the max of the USB 2.0 port, will it be faster than you old drive 80% sure it will but there is no data to verify that. We do not do testing with older specs on newer specification drives.

About 35 MB/s, in real life, surely not more than that.
In theory, you could go up to 60 MB/s (USB 2.0 spec).
In practice, when connected to USB 2.0, most good USB 3.0 pendrives will reach around 30 MB/s for sequential reads and writes, but only the very best USB 2.0 only pendrives ever reach or exceed that.
So, if you're considering whether to by a USB 2.0 only or a USB 3.0 pendrive, the latter is the way to go.

Sequential reads is like continuous reading from block to block.
