AX1200 Possible Faulty ATX 24-Pin Extention
Hi Guys,
I've got a Corsair AX1200 power supply installed into an Obsidian 800D case. I've been having random power off issues that seem to be reproduced when I start moving the ATX 24-Pin extension cable around near the motherboard connector.
I went see if there was a cable I could order online but not for the AX1200, is the CP-8920015 the same cable? Been trying to find this part in Australia to no avail so any assistance would be appreciated. I'm trying to avoid taking everything out of the case to test if the cable is faulty for obvious reasons.

Kind regards, Richard.

I believe the 1200 was different. It's probably best to call CS on the phone and ask. I see you are down under, and calling the states can be expensive. You can install skype and use that to call the toll free line. It wont cost you anything.

Thanks peanutz94.
Support have indicated the cable is still the same for the 1200W series and have RMA'd the part which is being sent to me free of charge in Australia. Very happy with the prompt reply and positive outcome. Now I'll just wait until it finally finds it's way downunder .

I am sorry about that please use the link on the left and request an RMA and explain the cable issue in the comments section. If we have that part available we will send you a new cable but I suspect that we would have to replace the whole PSU and cables.

Thanks RAM GUY, all good, as I indicated in my last post that is what I had done and a replacement ATX 24-pin extension cable has been sent to me, hopefully that is all that is required, fingers crossed .
Take care.

Hiya RAM GUY,
Just an update. The AX1200 ATX 24-pin extension cable turned up a lot quicker than I expected. I've left the machine running for the past couple of weeks and haven't had any random reboots during that period, which to me is a very good sign. I'll keep an eye on it but feel this is a positive result so far, I'll run some stress tests again on the system but as with building this didn't cause the system to reboot.
Thanks again, Richard.
PS peanutz94, indeed the cable is stamped with AX-1200 specifically so you were correct that the cable was indeed different.
