Default Vengeance 1500 Audio Issues

I bought my 1500 on December 16th of 2011 from Amazon (and received it several days later).

It was working perfectly up until this morning when I turned on computer to listen to music. I found that the sound is only going through the back speakers in both cups making it sound extremely hollow and awkward. I can move the cord around where it connects to the left ear cup and find that it helps the issue if I hold it in various positions.

I'll reiterate that nothing was wrong with it before this morning when I plugged it in. It's structurally sound. I've restarted my computer, replugged it in, and re-downloaded the drivers to no avail.

It seems to be an electrical problem just because if I move the cord around it seems to help the issue. But how can that be? I haven't done anything that should be rough to the most delicate of appliances.

Any help would be greatly appreciated-- I don't have money to drop on another headset and I need this very badly in order to concentrate on my work as I live in a very noisy environment.
