Default Corsair Link Software Version 1.2.7 Beta!

The latest version of or software version 1.2.7 will help to improve fan compatibility. This update will require that it be installed prior to the Firmware update to Firmware Version 1.2.5

Before you proceed:

1. Remove any stored profiles and set to default.

2. Perform Software update to the latest version of or software version 1.2.7 before you update the firmware of the cooling node to F/W Ver 1.2.5

3. From the tools Menu Select Tools/Device Management:

4. Select Update Firmware then select the cooling Node:

5. Select the location where you down loaded and extracted the Firmware update and proceed with the update:

I tried, but i have error when i updated fw :-(
After update is writing "unable to update node, too many retries." and in the windows the error is "status: writing 0xc800 to 0xc83f" and now i have unidentified node in place of cooling node.
What i need to do,i try 5 times to update the firmware but same error every time.
Luckily yesterday I received the second cooling node :-)

Frankie,

Try moving your Cooling Node to another socket on the Commander and then try again. Be sure to do this with your copmuter turned OFF.

Good Luck.

I had no problem with my upgrade.

What I did:
  1. Deleted Profiles and reset to default
  2. Installed new version of corsair link
  3. Started corsair link, went to device management
  4. Selected Update Firmware, choose the cooling node, and browsed for the file
  5. Waited about 10 seconds, update completed
  6. Setup new profile

Some feedback on the upgrade so far:
Improvements
- I tried a fan that was previously not working. CM Sickleflow 120mm 2000RPM. Previously it ran at about 1200rpm with no control. I can now control the speed between 500-2000rpm. The LED flickers at less than full speed, and the motor is noisy, but it is controllable and doesn't overheat like before.
- My emax TB Silent fans previously on first boot would start at 500RPM, but after 5-10 minutes would race to 1500RPM and I would lose control. Setting to Max RPM would drop it back to 500rpm, with no control. I did not notice this last night after the upgrade, but I will report back after a few days.

Problems/Observations
- My H80 randomly revs up both fans briefly, going from 850-1200rpm. After a second it drops down again to 850. I have not confirmed whether this is due to the CPU temp being right on a transition area of my custom curve, since I had to set those up with the new profile. It was quite distracting, so I set my fans to fixed RPM to stop it.
- The Firmware update doesn't seem to change how it applies the profile to the H80; It still runs flat out until I start the software. Not sure if this was even addressed in this update.

Questions / Suggestions
- Was the reason for the profile deletion because we have the Beta? It was frustrating to have to setup the profile again. Can Corsair confirm whether the profile could have been backed up / restored, or if the file format changed, whether an export / import system could be added to the software?

I had a little problem tonight. I was playing BF3 for a while and when I finished I checked the Link software and it was frozen. I could move around and change things OK but all of my readings were stuck. I closed it out and restarted it and it was normal again. This had never happend with the old version.

Anyone else see this?

Could you be a bit more specific? What's that in reference to?

As stated above I followed the directions exactly as written. I than proceeded to update the firmware and got "Status: Error Writing 0xC800 to 0xC83F"......"Unable to update node, too many retries." I can't see my Cooling Node anymore as it says "Channel 1 : Unidentified Node" under the Firmware Update drop down list, after attempting to update even after a fresh restart. I hope this file didn't wreck everything. My pumps are working at 100% speed now unfortunetly since the Cooling Node doesn't recognize them anymore. Not sure where to begin with this.

Edit: Anything connected to the Cooling Node is not recognized: Fans, Temp Probes, Pumps, Flow Sensor etc etc
