Force GT in an older laptop - advice please
Hiya.
I'm thinking about installing a ForceGT 120GB in an Acer Aspire 5315 (dated around ~2008); it has the Mobile Intel GL960 Express chipset and the Intel 82801HM I/O Controller.
Would I be setting myself up for a compatibility nightmare?
What guidelines should I follow?
What precautions should I take?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

i popped a force 160 on my old dell lattitude 620 and cloned my old drive with Acronis backup and recovery, works great (at SATA1 speeds of course) but reliable as hell and my laptop is several years old.

I'm using a Force 3 240GB in a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 ( also from around 2008 ) without any problems. It works at SATA 2 speeds, albeit a bit slower than a desktop would.

i made a complete partition backup to an external usb drive using Acronis tru image and created a restore CD.
popped the drive in and rebooted to the CD, followed the instructions and restored the drive. that was smooth and there was free unpartitioned space left (old drive was a 60 Gb) so i used Acronis disk director and added the free space to the existing partition.
been swell ever since :)
