dchri18
There's a certain point in a full 360° rotation downwards where the scroll wheel becomes hard and rough to move. The mouse wheel feels fine when scrolling up. Had the mouse for a couple of months now and just started to have this issue. Any ideas how to fix this? Corsair Employee Corsair Nick Posted October 18, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 18, 2017 Has anything been spilled on the mouse? You can try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air. Something might have built up or gotten lodged in the wheel sensor.
dchri18
Nothing has ever spilt on the mouse. I tried using a compressed air can on the mouse wheel and the issue still persists. Is there a way to open the mouse up?

Is there a way to open the mouse up? Yes, but you will invalidate the warranty. You also have to be careful not to crack the casing of damage the ribbon cables inside, which will most likely need to be disconnected to properly separate the casing. After that, you will also need to know what you're doing and whether or not you can come up with a custom fix. You will most likely need a torx screwdriver. They're the screws used on the M65 and I assume they used them in your mouse too.
dchri18
I'd rather not void my warranty. However, would this mouse wheel issue define my mouse as faulty? If so, I'll just go ahead and get it replaced.
