  1. Present version of icue seems to work fine to set up device. Can't speak to what happened at the time of release. Can answer my question below in case anyone happens to look at this, yes, to confirm the SDK works great with the wireless scimitar in wireless mode. Have not tested BT but the slipstream wireless works with the SDK without any additional setup.
  2. Just wanted to follow up as I just got my wireless scimitar. It appears they made some subtle adjustments and to my naked eye and initial thumb feel, it is a little bit more refined and doesnt seem to be as sharp? Maybe that is a factory coating but it almost looks like the top was scootched over a micrometer or two and the bottom doesnt protrude as much on the Left hand side.
  3. Preaching to the choir mate. I have 2 SDXLs 32 keys now one for home and one for office and I love them and I had 2 of the original smaller versions also 🙂 That said, there is not really a speed comparison between something like mechanical switches or OPX switches and the left hand convenience, or tactile feedback if you need to press the buttons many times or quickly at the left (assuming you are right handed like me and keep your SD on the right). I think the new mk2 can rotate but I don't think it can lay flat? Pardon the dog hair and the stains on the extended mouse mat but have a look
  4. not to resurrect this thread but I just finally bought myself a wireless scimitar and I was a little confused by the setup, admittedly I didnt read any instructions. It took like a second time connecting the USB C for some reason for icue 5 latest to grab the mouse and install it, as well as the slipstream dongle which I think may have been what happened to you - it didnt show up for me in any reasonable timeframe until the second time I plugged it in. Then its a bit confusing but to pair it, you may need to reseat both connections after disconnecting in order to start pairing process but you also need to have the bottom switch over to the slipstream non bluetooth mode. at least on screen, I didn't notice any mention of this requirement (although ofc that's how it would work). I am also extremely pleased to see this works in wireless mode with the SDK for the M keys so they can emit off keyboard keys which is the only reason I wanted it. I took a gamble and I am very happy and will buy another for work. There's some nice subtle revisions to the form factor but the only downside I see is not having the two buttons behind the scroll wheel, I used to use them for scroll up 7x and scroll down 7x, so now I am going to have to lose the up 7x but I guess I used that a little less anyways.
  5. I agree with your assessments, but the first one definitely, the left side is a bit sharp (this is the case for the original and the elite wired - I have lost track of which I have but I have had like four or five of the wired version). I am excited to buy a wireless one some day soon. Maybe a thumb rest in the middle of the left click button and frame above the macro keys so when you dont intend to press anything or casually moving your idle finger has a place to be that feels sensible
  6. I settled for a Corsair OPEX K100 RGB with supplemental Newhui 12 Key Mechanical Gaming Keyboard from amazon at the left, and re purposed by old G keycaps from the k95s that died (I had literally four of the 18 key 130% k95s, one was destroyed by a coworker I lent it to from sugary coffee, and the other three after several years of everyday constant use started having issues) but I loved them and frankly they in a small way changed my life and I would have literally paid like $300 - $350 usd for a couple similar models but really its not so terrible having just the six with the same layout for macro keys. It would be nice if it was all on the same base / level but you get used it for the most part w/ the left 12 being down a quarter inch or so. Also a bummer because you cannot use the SDK to control those 12 macro keys from separate device. Still disappointing I would really like to have seen that come back. At least they made a wireless scimitar. Perhaps they will one day revisit this. I'm sure its just less friendly on the proforma - need to charge more for higher shipping, packaging, r and d and manufacture and they probably see some upper limit at the spend threshold on consumers for a keyboard. Hard to tell that inscrutability to the proforma but you would think the ecosystem and goodwill was really what the PE firm purchased but what do I know. Many years ago Taran had made video plead for Corsair to consider making a macro 18 key, which I also agree with still, because it would incorporate with icue and could clip on a la carte to existing kb's and be pretty sweet generally. I would say smart money would be on that because they could charge a serious premium for simplified hardware that might even be able to have separate USB connectivity or maybe even wireless.
  7. as long as they add up to 18 macro keys, I am down with that modular design. I work with a lefty accounting staffer and she has her calculator on the left. I imagine that might be neat for them. You may find another board mfg or two that does this, but in my opinion, the user experience isn't the same quality level. Corsair is very good at this stuff, and kind of did that with the new interconnected light/fan system 'CORSAIR iCUE LINK'
  8. I am not sure how many corsair decision makers are going to see your post, but the only thing I can say to mitigate your feelings as a user is, I have used many pieces of hardware over the last thirty years and I would say I have gone through five times as many other brand's generics (often times with effectively zero warranty or replacement) as I have 65's and scimitars in the same timeframe. None of them perform as well tactile-ly and often lack other features including precision lighting and button count or layout. I think the hardware can fail for a lot of reasons, including long term use which I think is hard to QC for even with robots bc of the time factor between rolling off the press and getting packaged. There are probably other real world complexities in there including outsourcing of components and materials science like something literally would never fail in the first 12 months but maybe will 36 months out. We also live and game and work in a dynamic environment with dog hair, drywall dust, ceiling tile pieces, chemicals, and humidity / oxidation - none of which are easy to test for in a factory. At least the company stands by their warranty and does replace these devices in a timely fashion.
  9. I think the support site is a good move. https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/requests/new They may replace the item if it is in a certain timeframe, and provided there is a hardware issue. if they are for some reason unable to assist (which has never happened to me and I have reached out 3 times I think over the years), can you confirm you get the tactile bump when rolling? If so, it might mean there is an issue getting the scroll registered, which might be something lodged in the way like hair / dust etc which may or may not be made better with some aggressive compressed air
  10. Hey mate, I have been crying about this for a bit, and had to discontinue using my 18 macro key K95s but the K100 opex is what I use now in two locations and I just use an amazon supplemental 12 key macroboard that sits at the left and I even moved the Gkey keycaps to it. Its not perfect, and you don't get icue or sdk integration, but its more or less similar. For what its worth they just came out with another item people have been asking for a long time now, so maybe there is hope.
  11. Love you!! Will buy. I just unfortunately purchased a wired scimitar replacement same day like 2 days ago from local BB as I had a middle mouse stop working consistently (I work in 3d a lot so I hammer that thing an absolutely astronomically abnormal amount so not mad about it I must have used it every day for five years). I am probably going to get one for home and work, but before I pull the trigger on this, can you confirm there is operability with the SDK for the M keys on this wireless model?
  12. the fabric is that nice microfiber you see on a lot of game mats, but it seems to be a titch better quality. Its my 'daily driver' at home and I have had it for quite some time and use it more than 8 hours a day. I like it a lot and feel like its among the better performant mousemats I have used. the edge has some type of clear acrylic or something that allows the diffuse light. There's like three zones for the edges and I am not sure how that works exactly but the one thing its a lot better at than the polaris was, is not having the light too bright. Maybe bc I am shorter than some (5'8" roughly) I think my eye level tends to be a smidge closer to the keyboard so it used to kind of bug me on the polaris - not so much on the MM700 even if the room is dark. The block at the top right is also very nice and has a modular disconnect with the USB C connection and that provides 2x USB3 A. Theres another RGB logo on the top of that block (like a fourth zone). The pass thru is pretty reliable but every once in a while using both ports has been a problem. I rarely do that anyways its usually just for the mouse and the occasional USB drive and I dont have a problem, but like I remember a couple times having the scimitar and a ps4 controller wired there at the same time and it dropped out but thats any USB hub I have ever used has caused some type of problem some of the time. as needed It also seems to clean up nice with just wet papertowels as the stitch is awfully tight so stuff doesnt get lodged into the fabric. I have several dogs so theres a constant hair battle.
  13. were you all able to update the firmware to 1.13.53? That helped some % of the time for me. Still have the occasional phantom lockup typing and the window focus loss but that's less common and its luckily apparent as soon as it happens. Its odd for sure. It feels like the macro recorder went haywire and there's random hardware playback or something.
  14. Good luck. I quite like the board and the optical switches are quite quick in my opinion. There was a weird fail of the media keys today but a reboot sorted it. The firmware I am on is fine I just wanted to make sure I had the last one. The failed bit is probably just bc the server cant be contacted (I havent looked into it)
  15. a quick gist for remapping G1 to G3 and so on using the SDK example here https://gist.github.com/hasteagag/1c48ef79e1f2d16a1999eb7aafafce6b
