Dark Core has an optional right wing for finger rest. I use it for ring and pinky, and helps me control mouse movement without crimpy claw grip.

@harrynyce: try quitting iCUE and see if it continues. If so, uninstall iCUE and test. IIRC this is a driver issue and perhaps interacting with another driver.

What else is on 2.4GHz? Router wifi, bluetooth? Some devices if not being used still broadcast, and can cause interference. One chap solved his issue by turning off bluetooth on his TV.

On my Dark Core, I had issues with updating the original firmware, and it turned out it needed a USB 2.0 port to succeed. Afterwards, the updated firmwares worked fine over USB3 ports for updating.

By doing that, you are causing the mouse device to be redetected by Windows, and activate the HID drivers. Sounds like one of your HID drivers is stopping. I would first try doing a repair install...
