Motherboard Advice

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for some advice on motherboards...

My current PC has a H115i CPU water cooler and a HX1000i PSU requiring 1 USB 2.0 header each for monitoring. My case also requires another one and at the moment my motherboard doesn't have enough to support all of them. To compensate, I am having to use an Internal USB HUB but since putting it in, my PC has been starting to BSOD and doing some other weird stuff.

I've been planning to upgrade my PC anyway from a Z170 chipset to a Z270 or 370 but I need one with ample 2.0 headers along with similar or better features than my current board. I'm struggling to find a suitable one and I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions?

Let me know if you need any more info

Cheers,

Ed

Hey, hey!!

ASUS ROG Maximus X Formula has 6x 2.0 usb ports, and 6x 3.1 gen1 ports, as well as 1x 3.1 gen2 usb ports.

The board itself is overkill if all you're looking for are usb 2.0 ports.

Just buy a different usb2 port hub, and try that before going full upgrade of your PC?
