So here it is: The Green Lantern Scratch Build. This will be an open tower build with lots of black and green acrylic. Also want to hide the GPU and only show the motherboard and custom bitspower water cooling. First I just wanted to make a black and green build, but after some comments I changed it into a Green Latern theme. Specs: Case: Scratch CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4770K Motherboard: ASUS Gryphon Z97 ARMOR Edition GPU: STRIX-GTX980-DC2OC-4GD5 PSU: ... 800W RAM: CORSAIR Dominator platinum 16GB Fans: 3x CORSAIR HD120 RGB LED PWM Fan Cooling: Custom Bitspower water cooling
kier1626863322
Episode 1 I started with a 240 rad and mounted two CORSAIR HD120 RGB fans on it. Measured and cut a horizontal black acrylic "midplate" with fanholes and placed two brackets vertical on this. After this I've made a motherboard tray µATX size and mounted this onto the brackets. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161022_125210.jpg On top of the black I took the same size and made a green plate with a slot in it for the PCI-E riser to "hide" the GPU below the midplate. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161022_143939.jpg Added some nice shapes for the fanholes, but in this stadium it wasn't a Green Lantern build. So this will change. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161022_180725.jpg After some good measuring I've added Bitspower rotary's for the radiator (left) and the CPU (right) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161022_180742.jpg In a perfect straight line with the CPU block using some adapters. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161023_211531.jpg Also made a bracket/ riser to lay down the GPU with water block, just high enough to get a perfect horizontal line regarding the PETG tube. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161023_211635.jpg Removed the In/ Outlet block from the main block and made a gap in a piece of aluminium. This for stability and carrying the weight of the rear from the midplate. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL1/20161023_211731.jpg More coming your way!!! kier1626863322
http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/banner%20green.jpg Love these CORSAIR HD120 RGB fans!!! Beautiful effect :) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161022_212422.jpg http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161022_212443.jpg Then I've made a bottom plate, first black and then again a 3mm green piece. Of course also with a big slot for the airflow over the rad. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161022_212538.jpg And added some case feed http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161022_212545.jpg I had a nice little PSU laying around and have exchanged the original fan also for a CORSAIR HD120 fan http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161024_220840.jpg Removed the original cables and made them just long enough to connect http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161024_220848.jpg Little test :) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161024_215905.jpg http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161024_215828.jpg Made some " sidepanels" http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161025_194746.jpg And added the pump and some more Bitspower adapters http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/kier1976/-Green%20Lantern-/GL2/20161027_174309.jpg :):
