  1. Coming back to this because of 3.15.101. Been running it all morning, so far so good! Hesitant to call it totally solved, might be a case where it's going to work until I plug in just the right USB device or something, but with my usual setup (which has been running with static lights since December when I first got the thing) I'm now able to use the lighting options with no USB disconnect so far. Progress, anyway. Thanks for the work. Hopefully it's fixed and Corsair can narrow down the issues other users are still having.
  2. Eh, I bought it for the different pump design, and the different (larger) contact plate. The RGB was just kinda gravy.
  3. Cant speak for everyone, but LINK doesn't seem to do much but report fan speeds for me. After trying to get it to work, I went with iCUE because that's the supported software per Corsair's download page for the Platinum. It's my understanding that the Platinum is designed to work with iCUE, though I'd love to be proven wrong there.
  4. 1) Select device in iCUE. 2) Look under "Lighting Effects." Expand that dropdown. 3) There are 3 categories: a) Lighting Effects (Which is when iCUE is running and OS is loaded) b) Lightings Library and c) Hardware Lighting (which will run when PC is booting or if iCUE crashes).
  5. You can use iCUE to set the hardware defaults on the 115i Platinum, once it is loaded. Just keep lights at static per iCUE and it seems to avoid most issues thus far.
  6. On this install, yes. That seems to work (but if the lighting is cycling I may get another crash). On the previous install, restarting the service with Steam (and the USB hub on my monitors as aforementioned) was only a momentary win, with a crash being 100% on the way. This was before I stopped using any other lighting effects (via the software) other than Static. The hardware cycling seems to cause no issue... but that's only a thing after iCUE has crashed.
  7. It bears repeating that it was not just that I have Steam install, but that the disconnect/crash of iCUE and related services coincided with Steam's startup of it's own program (and related services.) I know that correlation does not equal causation, but this was a repeatable, predicable pattern on 2 separate installs for me. It's curious, to say the least.
  8. I'm not using a Commander Pro. Mine is connected directly to a USB header on my motherboard, and the fans connect to the pump with its on-board controller. My USB controller would only crash after a back-and-forth of disconnect/reconnect. Could not get the service to run again or retain control of the fans/pump speed or lighting. It kept working, but with defaults (which seems to be "quiet" settings for the Platinum. I've got a 9900k. An AIO that could just stop performing above a "quiet" level isn't exactly something to make one rest easy. But, as I have said... disabling (or making static) the lighting on the pump and fans has... for some reason... resolved this issue for me so far. I think the iCUE services and drivers for the H115i Platinum are suspect, but that's a layman's opinion. Kinda makes me wish I went for the Pro. At least they've got the gremlins out of that one. Pity, as I really like the hardware for the Platinum.
  9. I don't think you're alone. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=182412 Mine did this after installing Steam and monitor drivers, and what would eventually happen is the USB controller would crash. I wasn't able to resolve it, so I re-installed Windows. Was a new build, so I didn't lose much. I've since done what is suggested in that thread, which is to disable any kind of color cycling (making lights static or turning them off) and iCUE, the related services, and the USB seem to stay connected. In my case, there is a brief disconnect after loading Steam (odd, I know, but I've got different installs in which there's a correlation). But it's stable afterwards. Best I've got for you. Dreading sending mine back especially if it doesn't make any kind of difference. Clearly, something is amiss.
  10. h115i Platinum User here. Experiencing same problem. New computer, fresh install. Got everything up and running, installed all my hardware's associated applications and finally began installing some non-essential programs. As soon as I installed Steam, the problems began. Got USB disconnect notification, connect notification, and reconnect notification. Finally, the USB entry for for the H115 Platinum crashed along with the iCUE service. At the time, thought my monitor's USB hub was the culprit. May still be some kind of conflict there. Anyway, couldn't resolve the issue and running a 9900k with a pump without some kind of fan control (when it defaults to quiet) is not... ideal. Decided to roll back to a fresh install and go through each step more carefully. Install #2 proceeded as normal. Until I installed Steam. When the Steam Service started, USB disconnect sound played, lights on fans and pump of the H115i Platinum went berserk. Haven't installed the drivers of my monitor yet, which includes the USB hubs built into them, so I don't know if I'll get the full crashing of the AIO's usb connection or not yet. Saw this thread... apparently I'm not alone. I have no idea why Steam would be a contributor here, but with 2 separate installations on my PC it there was a direct correlation without any delay. As soon as STEAM's services started, the problems began.
