  1. Thanks LeDoyen. I would confirm that the only connection to the PSU was the 24 pin ATX connector. I have set up with Amazon now a swap for a new PSU of the same brand and type which should be arriving in 2 days. Cheers.
  2. Hi. I do see that despite a number of views, nobody has made any comment. Before I go through an RMA I primarily was looking for someone to advise me that I have missed something. I have no reply so I request that the mods here delete this thread and I will post on another forum. Thanks.
  3. Happy Holidays everybody. A long time since I have been here (first joined 2003). A bit of background about myself. I have been building my own desktops since 1999 (Asus P2B celeron build). Since then have built in 2001 and 2023 (AMD builds) and later on 2010 (Intel) 2017 (Intel) and now Intel i5 12600K with an MSI Z790 MB, Corsair RM750X Shift and Corsair 2 x 16G DDR5 Ram. Just providing this to give you the idea that I am reasonably experienced. The issue is that, after completing my build it would not fire up at all, no fans, no anything. Just a click. Leaving out all the intermediate steps, I started with the PSU and the ATX connector. With a paper clip I bridged pins 16 and 17 and then plugged the PSU back in. Nothing, No fan starting, however briefly. OK, Normally I think the fan in the PSU would start up for a few seconds but no. Not leaving it there I pull out my multimeter and check out first the 3.3V and then the 12V. Nothing. Tested out my multimeter and fully operational, So it appears that my PSU is DOA. I bought this from Amazon in the latter part of November this year(black Friday week) and due to work and time constraints did not start this build until this last week. The PSU was sold by and shipped from Amazon and is eligible for returns until the end of January. Looking at the serial number my PSU was manufactured in May 2023 (17the week). I fear that someone just returned this PSU earlier this year and without going through the RMA process. It was then "looked at" and repackaged with new cables, screws etc, and then shrink-wrapped again and went back into stock. I have never had, in all my builds, a DOA component but of course they happen. They just seem to be rare. What have I missed in my troubleshooting and how should I deal with this with Amazon as I believe I have to go there first instead of Corsair? Ideally I would like a cross-shipped RM750X (not needing cables or screws). Charge me for another PSU and then credit me when received. All comments most appreciated.
