  1. Well since nobody seems to care to provide Info I have been looking for more images and it seems like I found one that shows One of the HDD cages mounted in the middle spot However still looking for how much space that leaves for the Radiator + Fans And the PSU in this setup (Just to be sure the PSU fits) I have also been looking at some other cases Like the Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 / Luxe 2 (719) but I don't like that the storage than has to go in the front The Enthoo Elite is A good one but ... The Corsair 1000D is half the price ... and that I already considered a bit to expensive And also note wile Phanteks Makes nice cases my Current experience is that there are a lot of thing that get damaged quite easy and break over time As My Current Case is A Phanteks Enthoo Primo And I know what parts have already been replaced and I can tell you that it's a lot more than I had to replace on the Obsidian 800D That I used to have (I actually upgraded it to have USB 3 and Sata 3 and had to replace the door once)
  2. That does not look to good .. I am Happy to hear you Could RMA Right away
  3. For the front USB 3.x A Ports you will need to have Two 20pin USB 3.x connectors on your motherboard You can also get a USB 2.0 adapter from a 10Pin to 20Pin but than the ports connected to that will act as USB 2.0 Ports There are also some internal USB 3.x Hubs From Moddiy and Sebrent However Be aware that the one from Sebrent seems to have issues it seems to feedback the standby voltage into the 5 volt Sata connection Most recommend not connecting the sata power but this might result in other issues The other solution would be to turn off the USB Standby power in your bios I have not heard of similar issues with the Moddiy I Would not recommend using a simple split as most of the time these don't work and give massive issues when connecting two devices that are both the connections that both terminate on the same row of pins (Resulting in all your USB Devices being disconnected from your system)
  4. it's pretty hard to get wrong in a 5000D (Specially with a 360 AIO) The only issue might be pump in radiator and Radiator in the top of the case but most AIO's are designed to work fine that way Also Note that Tubes up in Side or Front Mount is not an issue as long as the top of the radiator is placed higher than the Pump This is something that a lot of people seem to say is wrong when using "Pump in the CPU Block" (Asetek) AIO's Steve from Gamers Nexus did a video on this (However some people took this out of context)
  5. It's A bit of a Shame since it is a case that was ahead of it's time I still consider it one of The best Cases ever made They just don't make them like they used to Since I am looking for a Replacement case myself I also compared them to the 800D that I used to have The funny thing I noticed when I was looking into the 7000D is that it's smaller than the 800D is And than A lot of people Say that the 7000D is A massive case ... and wondering why i Dissagree
  6. it depends ... if you are using a AIO to cool your CPU than it might be a smart idea as this would provide some airflow for RAM, VRM, chipset & M2 Drives if you use a tower style CPU cooler than it becomes less relevant but might still provide some extra cooling for those components If you are using a CPU cooler that blows toward the the board and want to use the cover than I would set the fans up as exhaust as this will help remove the hot air away from the board quicker if you remove the cover and use fans as intake you will create more positive pressure and this will that there is less dust buildup on small openings in the case (Also if you have a Radiator in the front you will add some cool air to your system) You could always try various setups Since I assume you are not running a Custom loop
  7. Hm ... I came across some interesting pictures of the 7000D on a review from techpowerup on the case From the looks of it it seems like there is a 3rd mounting Position for one of the HDD Cages however I can not find anything on if this actually is a spot where one cage could be mounted So is there anybody who can confirm this (The middle spot of where both the cages are mounted by default) if this is indeed a spot for it than it might actually be possible to get 3 HDD's and the only issue then would be if the default Cover in the front has enough space for the radiator I have I know there is a gap in the front part of that but nowhere does it specifies what the size of this gap is I am pretty sure A Slim Radiator would not be an issue there but I am not sure if my XSPC RX480 would fit So if somebody can provide the space between the fan bracket and that cover than I would know if its possible The only other problem I might run into is getting used to the smaller size of the case Since its also Smaller than the Obsidian 800D that I used to have before my current case
  8. Yeah but the biggest benefit of having larger Radiators is the reduction in noise (More fans at lower RPM) Cases used to be made to support external solutions and I have seen some videos on it (the room watercooling one from Linus was pretty insane) But the downside is that external solutions for this can be pretty expensive and than the 1000D would be a cheaper solution And not to forget that you are basically splitting your system in 2 cases and moving one big case aint so bad but as having to move 2 cases together
  9. Yeah ... Seems like there are not a lot of company's that care About Quad Radiators but the thing is that 360mm AIO's have been around for some time and even 420mm AIO's are out for a while So in a few more years we would be 480mm and even 560mm AIO's So corsair would be smart to start making cases that support those since it would future proof there cases The lifespan of there Flagship cases is around the 4 to 5 years so we will see a New Obsidian Line case this or next year to replace the 1000D (Hell if those get a lot more affordable by that time I might actually get one) and I would expect that new case to have at least the capability of supporting up to 4 x 560mm Radiators at a minimum since it needs to exceed the 1000D's status as a successor to it in my opinion The O11XL is A nice case but the issue with that one is that despite the name suggesting A lot bigger case it isn't that much bigger Since it has no support for 480mm Radiators it's also not a suitable replacement for me The 680x Looks like a Nice case and lot of support in the back For HDD's ,SSD's and other stuff it would not be bad if they make A larger version of that would not be a bad Idea but than I hope they are smart and also offer a A "D Airflow" version of it As for that other case ... Let me just say that I do not like Company's that rip people off They stole case designs from Caselabs and then filed a lawsuit against them for ripping of the design they copied from them They threaten Phanteks for using the Name "Luxe 2" Because it sounds like the name of there Daughter company And they stole the designs of the NF-A12x25 and got away with it (In my opinion Noctua should have just Burned that company to the Ground) I am pretty sure that people would think twice if they knew how Scummy this company actually is
  10. Yeah but that's the whole point The 1000D is basically my only option but I don't like that all sides are covered by glass and that the price is also very high The 7000D Airflow is the closest thing to what I am looking for but the problem with that one is that the combination of both 480mm Radiator and AX1200i PSU would make it that there is no space for the 3.5" Bays ... I don't mind Going with Less 3.5" drives since these available in capacities over 20TB however having to go with 2.5" would result in having only options up to 5 TB HDD's and 8 TB SSD's it's just a disappointment that he 7000 series don't have more Length so that you would at least be able to leave one of the bays in But if it had more Length it would have probably fitted A 480mm Radiator in the Top and in that it might even be possible to do 140mm sizing for the side as there would be space for it than (in my case that would make a nice spot for my Pomp) Also A point with the 7000 series is that when looking for E-ATX / SSI-EEB supporting cases on corsair's website it does not get listed if the case had more Length it might be able to have support for these type of boards My Current case is 650mm x 600mm x 250mm (H x L x W) and the one I had before that was 609mm x 609mm x 229mm (H x L x W) And the last one was a Corsair case So I am used to pretty big cases, but the 7000 series is smaller than What I am used to ... If Only Corsair made a case that was in between the 7000 series and the Obsidian 1000D
  11. As far as I can tell they should have since they still have the case (and some parts) listed on there website https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/search?q=obsidian+800d%3Arelevance&page=0&pageSize=0&rawFilterQuery#rotatingText I would recommend Contacting Corsair there support team if there are parts you are looking for that are listed Also for the USB 3.0 Upgrade Kit I would recommend getting A 20 pin to 2 x USB-A adapter to have them connected internal (In case your might still have the Original usb 2.0 version)
  12. So I Think the title would make it sound simple ... Just a bit of backstory here So Over A year Ago I Had a power issue that destroyed my old system A lot of stuff I could replaced but my Insurance did not cover componenten that were still use able Like ... the case And the case is still goed but it's starting to show its age ... specially since dragged around and having parts taken out and in again have made some parts of it go bad and they should be replaced but at the same time it might be cheaper to get a new case However looking for a case that would fit my current hardware seems a bit of a challenge So I am willing to let some of the hardware out (Like the 5.25" Optical Blu-Ray Burner) however I would prefer to put most stuff inside A new case So Where to start ... Here is most of the relevant hardware that needs to go in: Asus Maximus XIII Extreme 5 x 3.5" HDD Drives XSPC RX480 XSPC EX280 EKWB Revo Dual D5 PWM Serial Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 250 A Lot of Noctua Chromax Fans (120mm and 140mm mostly) Now I was already looking and could only find one case from Corsair that could fit these but That one has Glass on al sides and I don't really like that and also the the price is a bit to much in my opinion So I would Like to see your opinion on it and what recommendations you might have for me Also Note that I really liked the 7000D ... But that would not fit all the hardware I currently have
  13. Look at this Video Does Radiator Placement Matter? Hint: YES I Think You have already seen it but there is some more info in the video why it makes a difference and how impact-full the GPU cooling solution is
  14. Just to be Clear Even if the 24-Pin Is not connected Just push and hold the Test button to make the PSU turn on If that doesn't work than you might have to wait for Corsair Support to respond (Probably going to be an RMA in that case)
