  1. Sounds like your LED strip is defective/damaged, you probably need a new one. Something similar happened to me but Corsair support refused to help or even let me pay in full for replacement part.... I had told them I believed mine was damaged when I used a SATA power cable that wasn't designed for the PSU I had... You will notice they offer replacements on this forum to everyone who reports the same issue and doesn't know the cause, I wish I had done like everyone else.
  2. Yes you do! It may work in some capacity without but for full customization you need the controller...
  3. First check all connections, the fans need to be connected to a rgb hub and that hub needs to be connected to a lighting node, and all hubs and nodes need to be individually connected to SATA power. It is important to only use SATA power cables designed specifically for your power supply, mixing and matching power cables will permanently burn out your LEDs. Remember that the fans and strip should have default lighting during boot before the icue software even starts, whether or not this is happening should narrow down if it is software or hardware problem.... please provide more info!
  4. you need to set the first and last colour the same for it to loop smoothly
  5. Here's a few pics of what I've done http://i63.tinypic.com/28bs7yf.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/2rdyejq.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/vpb22e.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/2jcg8l.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/2wd60w7.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/2igemug.jpg
  6. this: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811978009&Description=rgb%20expansion&cm_re=rgb_expansion-_-11-978-009-_-Product im not sure if the node from the non-RGB case would respond to the RGB strip but using it as a led strip would produce all the same effects
  7. Hey guys FYI I was able to repair this myself The LEDs inside this case are identical to the ones in the LED expansion strips... And the lighting node pro can't even tell the difference.... So I took the plastic piece off 3 strips, folded them to the right length and stuck them on top of the fried strip... Worked like a charm, perhaps even brighter than stock because the LEDs are now raised closer to the strip! I would imagine any SPEC case owners could switch to the RGB strips using this trick also... Very easy to do!!!
  8. EDIT - RESOLVED WITH VERY EASY MOD, SEE NEXT POST PICS BELOW!!!! original post: need advice on where to get replacement led strip for this case.. my strip got fried and corsair support says they cannot help due to user damage... the part i need is as follows but i cannot find a supplier, i got the case from newegg and they said they do not carry this replacement part... help! https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-%7C-Parts/PC-Components/Cases/Carbide-SPEC-OMEGA-RGB-Front-Panel-LED-Strip%2C-RGB/p/CC-8900286
