Corsair Commander Pro doesn't recognize usb input

Just built up my system with lights and liquid coolers and ran into this problem on an intel setup with MSI 370 board. So it seems the controller is to spec but the motherboard controller isn't? Is there a 3rd party hub that can fix this? Or are we just screwed with options?
