  1. Oh, forgot to mention that the screen is definitely seated properly. The screen comes on when booting up the pc and displays a couple of animations, but once iCue loads, it turns black. I also tried re-seating it just to make sure that wasn't the issue. And just to be clear, the Link hub channels aren't overloaded. I have five fans on one channel and four fans along with the AIO on the other channel, so I'm well under the seven-device-per-channel limit. Also, iCue will let me access the "hardware screen" options, but the only options there are "default" and "gifs". In order to actually make the screen display GPU/CPU temps, I have to go through the [non-hardware] screen settings which has probably caused iCue to crash a dozen or so times as I've been sitting here trying to troubleshoot it (every single time I click that option it crashes).
  2. Short version: every time I click on the Link LCD screen settings in iCue, iCue crashes. I cannot do anything whatsoever with my newly installed Link LCD screen. Background/history: I bought a Link AIO when they were first released and recently upgraded it with the new Link LCD screen attachment. After physically installing it today, I booted up my pc, updated everything that iCue wanted to update (modules and firmware), double checked that everything had updated properly, then noticed that there wasn't even an option in iCue to do anything with the LCD screen despite the device showing up in iCue. I quit iCue and restarted the software. Now the option for the screen settings appeared in the menu, but every single time I click on that option in iCue, iCue crashes. This means that I can't do anything whatsoever with this fancy new LCD screen. Restarting icue and rebooting the pc don't help. No problems are showing up in the device manager, and windows 10 is fully up to date. I do notice something in the windows event viewer that is probably connected: DeviceSetupManager event ID 121: Driver install failed, result=0x80004005 for devnode 'CORSAIRBUS\VIRTUALDEVICE&10\1&79F5D87&4&{E7FD4ACE-EE13-11E2-AFDA-000C29100502}' No idea how to fix that, though. Incidentally, even though I bought the black version of the LCD screen, it came with a white usb c cable. Why in the world would you guys do that? Anyone buying the black version of the screen is almost certainly going to want black cables. It clashes horribly with my build. I plan to contact customer support about the screen not working and to see if they will send me a black usb c cable, but I'm hoping I can at least get the screen working through the forums here.
  3. Well, customer support refused my request for a cable that's longer than 100mm. Kind of depressing. I spent $600 on six fans and an AIO that won't function properly without purchasing a separate $20 cable that would really cost about $30 since I'd have to pay for shipping too. Those 100mm cables are effectively useless in almost every use case.
  4. Those 100mm cables are so short as to be useless to almost anyone, however. I received mine today, and despite the fan I need to connect to the rest of the system being literally right next to the others (but not snappable since the other two are connected to a 240mm AIO), the 100mm cable isn't even close to being long enough to connect them. I love the new Link system, and I appreciate that Corsair is trying to adjust what they're doing according to the feedback they're getting, but they ABSOLUTELY needs to include an extra longer cable with each of the 3-fan kits.
  5. The 100mm cables are far too short to be useful to just about anyone imo. Customer support sent me some after I contacted them, but they didn't let me know what kind they were going to be and didn't answer any questions I had about them. The 100mm cables arrived today and are laughably short, rendering them useless. I bought two of the 3-fan kits along with an AIO. I ordered these a month ago and still have a fan that can't be connected to the rest of the system due to the lack of cables included in the kits and the short length of the cables they sent. The fan that can't be connected is literally right next to the others, just can't snap it together since the other two are attached to a 240mm AIO. The 100mm cable is too short to connect them even though they're right next to each other. I'm hoping that Corsair will straighten this out, but it has taken a couple of weeks just to get this far in the customer support process. I love the new Link system, but those fan kits ABSOLUTELY need to include an extra [longer than 100mm] cable for what they're charging.
  6. One other first impression: The time warp feature looks really amazing. I hope they're able to add functionality to it that allows more than one color/rainbow wave/etc. I just wish I could get the other RGB effects to stop stuttering. I had nine fans/RAM/AIO before switching to the link system, and never had any stutters with that setup.
  7. I was really excited about the new Link system, and had even made a few requests over the years for something like this that could replace various commander pros/cores/etc., lighting nodes, and all that mess. I purchased a 360mm Link rad and two 3-fan kits. I realize that being an early adopter comes with risks, but I'm really let down by the whole experience on a number of levels. Knowing that lots of people would have issues with this new system as it gets rolled, out, I figured there would be a megathread, but I guess the mods see it differently or something. Here is a list of the issues I've had so far along with first impressions. First up, the issues: 1) The QR code that is supposed to take you to the manual doesn't even take you there. It just takes you to the main corsair page. I had to get support to send me a link to get to the manual at all, which 2) Sucks balls. I've built maybe 15-20 pcs over the last 15 years or so, so I pretty much know what I'm doing. The manual only included info on things that anyone who has ever put a pc together before would already know, and basically nothing on the important aspects of the new Link system that need illuminating. 2a) The manual for the AIO mentions a "distribution hub" without saying what it is, where it is located, or including any pictures. I deduced on my own after thinking about it for awhile and looking through all the parts that it must be the little box attached to the radiator. 2b) The Link hub that was included with the AIO has a sticker on it that says "AIO only". There is no mention of this anywhere in the manual. It's unclear what that even means. Can I not plug my AIO into a hub that doesn't have that sticker? Am I not supposed to plug a second channel into that hub, despite all of Corsair's marketing making a point of highlighting the fact that you can plug two channels into a hub? If I can't plug another channel into it, why does it even have a port for a second channel? That's just bad design. 2c) There is a usb-c connector on the aforementioned "distribution hub" with no explanation anywhere in the manual as to what it's for. My wild guess is that maybe it's for upgrading to an LCD screen on the pump head, but I don't know. The manual should say what that is for even if we can't currently use it, if only to avoid confusion. 3) The cable issues: 3a) I am flabbergasted that as expensive as these kits are, they only come with a single cable capable of only connecting exactly one set of three snapped-together fans. If you have even one fan that is positioned in your rig in a way that it can't be snapped together with others (which is probably as common of a use-case as it gets), you won't have enough cables and will have to order extras. This absolutely astounds me. If they're going to charge $160 for a 3-fan kit, or $240 or whatever for an AIO, the LEAST they could do is include an extra damn cable which probably only costs them pennies. One of my fans remains completely disconnected now due to lack of cables. The easiest way to fix the issue would be to buy a splitter, for which I'd have to shell out another $20, and since I didn't purchase one when I bought the other stuff (since there was no indication that I'd need to), I'd have to pay another $10 for shipping. This is EXTREMELY disappointing. 3b) Corsair support posted pictures on reddit (because others were confused by the crappy manual as I was) of a cable whose length is perfect for connecting the radiator to the rad fans. I don't know whether this cable actually exists, but it's *definitely* not the one that comes with the AIO. The one that I have is too long and juts out in a way that is both unseemly and that creates issues when trying to fit it into the case. It's the wrong length, is ugly, and causes practical problems with respect to fitting it in cases. 4) Now that I got everything set up (except for one fan that I don't have enough cables to connect despite dropping $600 on this stuff), The lighting keeps stuttering. No idea what's going on here. Hopefully I'll get it fixed, but who knows? So my first impressions of this system is that it has a lot of potential, but Corsair is risking alienating some of their best customers who are willing to shell out obscene sums of money to use this Link system by dropping the ball in numerous ways. The fans look amazing, or they would if the lighting didn't stutter. And I was able to ditch a Commander Core, Commander Core XT, and an internal USB 2.0 hub and replace it with a single Link hub, which is less than half the size of any of those three items. This is going to be a revolutionary system that people will love, but Corsair needs to work out these issues. and include extra cables with the kits.
  8. Is there not a master thread for the new Link hardware? I couldn't find one in the new product release section or in the hardware section. I feel like I must be missing something since this is one of the coolest things to come out of Corsair in awhile (and I'm a LONG time Corsair fan, so to speak). If there isn't one, could a mod or whatnot start one? And if I'm mistaken and one already exists somewhere, would you please direct me to where it is? This is a revolutionary new system, and it needs a stickied thread imo. I imagine people will have lots of questions about it as the products get into more people's hands. For instance, I ordered two of the 3-fan kits (which have arrived) and the h150i (360mm AIO) Link (which should arrive in a couple of days). I'm really looking forward to diving into the new system but already hit one snag that I wasn't aware of and needed to contact support to find an answer to. It looked like the 3-fan kit would come with a 90 degree cable from the pictures on the product page, but I discovered that it doesn't. Support confirmed that it doesn't come with one but that the AIO should have one included. It would be nice if it explicitly stated this on the product page for the fans. But I digress. My main point is that it would be fantastic to have a stickied thread devoted to the Link system since it's so new and works differently than older products that needed commander pro/core, lighting nodes, etc. Also, thank you Corsair for developing this new system. I hope (and imagine) that it will catch on like wildfire. I remember asking for something like this many times over the last several years.
  9. Thanks for the reply! That’s just what I needed to know, even if it’s not the answer I was hoping for. I’m way out of the return period, though. About to move that cooler from one rig to a new build and was hoping I could orient it differently, but I guess that’s unfortunately not an option.
  10. Does anyone know if Corsair has added the ability to rotate screens (specifically with temperature gauges and whatnot) to the Elite LCD coolers yet? I read through most of the thread but am unclear on this since unless I’m misunderstanding, it seems like the release notes for 4.25 specifically said they added it, but almost everyone in the thread (with one or two exceptions) seem to indicate that it still doesn’t work.
  11. *sigh* these forums are designed kind of horribly imo. Among other issues, quoting didn't work for whatever reason in my previous post, and when I tried to edit it to clarify (since the quote didn't work), I got a message saying that the forums wouldn't let me edit the post. Anyway, the problem I was referring to in that post was a flickering LCD screen in my cpu cooler.
  12. I'm also having this problem, along with iCue crashing multiple times each day. I also have two commander cores. Please fix this Corsair. iCue is basically unusable right now for me, as are all the keybinds I have set up for my mouse and keyboard due to the constant crashing of the software.
  13. I updated iCue a few days ago and did a firmware update to the H150i, which made the intermittent red triangle problem I've had with my H150i LCD screen worse, then I updated it again yesterday, and now my LC100 triangles won't turn on at all despite being recognized by iCue. Please fix this. While the LCD screen has gotten the red triangle problem every few days ever since I got it (and therefore might just need to be RMA'd), I've never had a single problem with the LC100's until the update yesterday, at which point they immediately turned off and haven't responded to any troubleshooting steps, which tells me that it's almost certainly a problem with this version of iCue. Please fix this. I've been using iCue in one form or another for almost ten years now (ever since Corsair's first RGB mechanical keyboard came out), and it's gone through various phases, but there had always been problems with it up until maybe six months ago, when it finally (for the first time in ten years) appeared pretty stable, except for the aforementioned red triangle problem which might or might not be an iCue issue. Before then it was kind of infamous in the industry for not working all that great, but I've been very pleased with the improvements... up until this week. Now it feels like it's moving backwards, and I might have to switch back to an earlier version if it will let me.
  14. Yeah I've had the red triangle problem on this thing on and off since the day I installed it pretty much. The firmware update for it that I installed today has now made it permanent. According to iCue, the firmware was updated succressfully. MIght have to RMA this thing.
  15. The video kind of contradicts the quick start guide since the quick start guide doesn’t say a single word about connecting the sata power cable attached to the master tile, hence the confusion. The QSG made me think that the sata cable on the master tile was there just in case we needed to connect more than nine tiles. I’m not sure why we’d need to power both the lighting node pro as well as the master tile itself when just using nine tiles, but the video does seem to indicate that we need to do this. Please fix the quick start guide to be consistent with the video, assuming the video is correct.
