Default CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 and X58 crashing under load

Memory is only stable at 1066mhz. All of the methods used to obtain 1600mhz cause the system to bluescreen under load. XMP Profile#1 8-8-8-24 1.65V crashes, as well as all settings auto and setting target frequency to 1600mhz.

Currently, with auto enabled, RAM clocks in at 800mhz on CPUZ. 9-9-9-24-88.

Memtest is ok. It has been pointed out that these sticks are not on Asus's QVL for the Rampage III Gene. Not sure if that should really matter as this RAM has been very reliable for me in the past.

Thanks!

If CPU-Z is reading the memory at 800mhz. That gets multiplied by 2. Giving you a speed of 1600mhz.

If it were running at 1066, CPU-Z would report 533 mhz. If you have them set on auto and keyed in the target freq, it look like they are running at 1600mhz.
But just in case, any chance of a screen shot?
You can also check this link on how to read CPU-z. It may shed some light. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=44495

Also check the CPU/QPI Voltage and see what its set to with MP enabled, if its set to 1.2 Volts try it at 1.4 Volts.

Hi guys and sorry for the extremely late response.
Thanks for your inputs. I have been using my system in a state that does not utilize XMP for a while. Thought I'd take another crack at getting it to work and ran into the same issues. Here's my CPUZ details on a stable memory profile.. QPI was 1.2... 1.4 didn't seem to make a difference.

Basically instead of using an XMP profile, I just set the target frequency manually to 1600mhz and use spd of 8-8-8-24-41-2T with a voltage of 1.643 thereabouts. Not sure why just using an XMP profile causes the bluescreen crashes under load.. but at least the PC works.

Updated the Rampage III Gene BIOS to the latest version 10xx. Having issues where the IOH voltage is dropping to 0 randomly at times. Wonder if it's related.
