Default Help with my Corsair H80

I have a CPU with one 200mm lateral fan, one front bottom 120mm, and two 120mm at the top, I bought a Water Cooler Corsair H80 Hydro Series.

The manual says that the air flowing is supposed to come from outside the cpu, with these many fans, can I reverse it?

Thanks in advance.

Individual case and airflow setups need to be taken into account when building out your system. Corsair recommends using colder air from outside of the case for the best performance. Depending on your case and fans populated in the system you can get almost identical temperatures on the CPU and drop the case temps a few degrees by using the H80 as an exhaust.

I use my H80 in an exhaust configuration with no problems or issues at all.

Whilst Corsair do recommend that you set your H80 up to intake cooler air from outside the case. As spdfre@k has rightfully said; There are times when individual case and airflow set ups need to be taken into account.

Ergo, you can mount your H80 as necessity dictates, or to your preference :).

Previously I had mine set up as an intake, but due to my hardware and specific set up, I swapped mine around to exhaust.

Temps differences are negligible, I only noticed a 3 - 4 C change at extreme loads.

Essentially, once installed, use a hardware monitoring app of your preference and keep a keen eye on your temps in the early days, (CPUID HWMonitor or OpenHardwareMonitor as examples amongst many others are good choices). If you are happy with your temps with your H80 used in an exhaust configuration, no problem :).

We are using the H80, exhaust config with 3 case fans supplying outside air into the case. Ambient conditions around computer dictate cool running atm (we are in Australia (Winter)). We need to wait until Summer to fully test temp deltas.

Not into overclocking, but we need good cooling because our Summer ambient temps get very high.

So far I'm very impressed with the H80.

You always reverse the fans... intake or exhaust, whatever gives you the best result. Like what SpDFre@k and Arctic Wolf had mention.. the set up will depend on how the fans are position in the case. Different builds will require different arrangements.
