Question Ga-970a-d3 & cmx8gx3m4a1600c9

I have system running with:
  • AMD FX-4100 CPU
  • Gigabyte 970A-D3 Motherboard
  • CMX8GX3M4A1600C9 Memory
  • Corsair TX650M PSU
  • EVGA GeForce 550ti Graphics Card

The system detects my memory at 1333 and runs stable. I was unable to find my motherboard listed in the compatibility or memory finder tools on this website. Is it possible for me to change settings manually to make my memory run at 1600? If so what specific settings need to be changed? My system detects the timing (9-9-9-24) correctly, and it is running at 1.5v by default if that helps at all.

Thanks in advance.

With that MB and CPU you should be able to run 1866 memory without overclocking. So 1600mhz should run just fine.

There have actually been quite a few posts here with the new AMD CPU's not running memory at rated speeds.

Have you checked for a newer BIOS?
It might be worth calling gigabyte with this and see what they suggest.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it would run fine as well. I dont want to deal with a manufacturer rma on my mainboard so will probably just return to vendor and get something different.
