Default Possible RMA XMS 1600 DDR3

This is just an enquiry really. Im trying to troubleshoot a problem i am having with playing games, Skyrim and Fallout New Vega being the ones i have the noticed the problem with (extreme jittering). If i RMA'D my RAM how would it be determined if the RAM has a fault as i have run memtest86+ with no faults. I only ask as i have RMA'D my mobo all ready and it looks like the mobo isn't the problem, i am waiting on results from my graphics card RMA but given that i have all ready bought a separate card while im waiting for my original card back and still see the problem i doubt it is that. Im left thinking it's either CPU(phenom 955), RAM or worst case scenario PSU (Corsair AX850, i really doubt it's the PSU though). Do the tests involve testing the RAM in game as if it works fine playing Skyrim while being tested i can be assured the RAM is fine. I've done a lot of testing on my pc, rebuilt it, reinstalled windows on separate hdd's etc so it's getting to the point that i may have to RMA the RAM. It seems odd to me that it would pass memtest and could still be the problem but maybe bad RAM can pass and still cause stutter i really don't know, im running out of things that could be causing the problem.

Please enter your system information so we can help you with this. However, from what you posted I doubt the memory is the issue if you are not getting errors in Memtest. More then likely it is the configuration and how you have your system setup that is causing the issue if the Video card tests out Okay.

Sigh.. Specs

I've had these specs for the last 2 years except for the SSD/RAM. I've done a full clean install of windows 7 and 8 on both SSD and HDD. The Windows 7 disk i used is the same one i have used to do a full OS reinstall many times before without problems. I can't see how my configuration or the way i have my system set up could be causing the problem since that hasn't changed and a Bios reset and Windows re-install would have corrected the problem if it had been a configuration issue. As i mentioned above i've taken my PC completely apart, CPU and all just in case there was a problem there. No change. Any other suggestions i'll happily try because so far im drawing a blank

Im unable to run tests for a little while until my motherboard and card return from manufacturer testing but I've purchased some separate RAM to test once i am able to rebuild my system. I will update this thread once i get a chance to test the system with that RAM.

If you are trying to run the memory at DDR1600 that is the issue; your CPU only supports DDR1333, so please go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and then set the memory frequency to DDR1333 and leave the timings at AUTO and set Command Rate to 2T and set the memory Voltage to 1.65 Volts and set the CPU/NB Voltage +.1 Volts if needed if its still not stable.

Thanks for the quick reply. I honestly can't remember what speed i have set my ram to run at, but what you mention is possible. I will try as you suggest as soon as i am able and will update this thread.
