iCue suddenly won't open/close, prevents other programs from opening/closing

I've lately been having an issue with iCue software where it suddenly has an issue (icon in system tray turns red with an "!"), pops up spontaneously after some time. I use 2 Corsair products - Void USB Headset, and Strafe keyboard (Red LEDs). This has been happening for QUITE some time and typically the issue would not really be a big deal, I'd open up iCue (tends to take considerable amount of time to open which is frustrating) and realize the Strafe is not showing up, I'd just disconnect and reconnect the keyboard and it'd fix it. Now that has stopped working, I can't even see what the issue is because once it happens, iCue will not actually open up when I click on the system tray icon or open up the program any other way, and I can't CLOSE it either even by trying to end the process in Task Manager. Not only that, once we're at this point I cannot even open or close OTHER programs. I just had it happen for the third time in the last week where I was watching a stream on Twitch and it actually froze the stream. And even one step further, my computer won't even shut down properly at this point (presumably because the computer simply cannot close iCue), so I have to manually turn it off with the power button.

This is obviously VERY frustrating. I have no other issues with any other software, hardware, or any thing that could be causing this. iCue is up to date, as are the firmware for both the keyboard and headset. The only program I've had open every time it has happened is Discord. Maybe there's an issue with how iCue and Discord are interacting but I doubt this since the problem has been occurring for quite some time on iCue, only recently just getting more severe.

The worst part is that I used to use a much much older version of iCue that basically never needed to update, and then I had gotten a new Wireless HS70 headset, and it updated my iCue for that, and ever since that (I since switched back to the Void as it is drastically more comfortable and IMO has better sound quality) this software is just a nightmare compared to before. I wish I knew what version I used to have before that but I never had any issues with it so I lost track of what version it was.

Wonder if there's any help that can be offered in this situation because at this point I'm really close to just going with non-Corsair hardware so I don't have to deal with this software anymore.

So this doesn't happen to anyone here at the office. What it sounds like is that the HID driver's are timing out or losing access to the devices themselves. Maybe an A/V software is involved, or the USB's are being deactivated by the system?

Many issues with Corsair Utility Engine can be solved by performing a clean reinstall of the software. This is a little different from just uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Please perform the steps below:

- Please make sure to install all updates for Windows. .

- Install RevoUninstaller: http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html?part=dl-&subj=dl&tag=button

- Run RevoUninstaller

-Select iCUE, and then select uninstall

- Restart your computer

- Reinstall CUE.

I want to post here and thank Calico Jack, as after weeks of troubleshooting and an unhelpful support, this post about uninstalling iCUE and removing the associated registry keys with the help of Revo seemingly fixed my issues with constant crashes of the service.

After uninstall and cleaning registry, installed the 3.14.100 from the website and no issue so far.

(altough its strange that the new version is not available on the in-app update channel)

thanks again Jack.
