Hi all, this is my first post
I am using corsair vengeance RAM in my system (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 XMP) and I originally had a corsair A70 CPU cooler. In order to fit this thing in I had to remove the heatspreader off one of the RAM sticks, which went fine. I just used pulled the heatspreader plates appart a little bit and slid a modelling knife in between to cut the glue off the chips inside.
Now however I have upgraded the cooler to a H100 and so there is plenty of room for the heat spreader to go back on.
My Question is: what glue is used to attach the metal heat spreader plates to the RAM? Is it some kind of special thermal glue or what?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
