Default H100 makes noise in response to CPU load?

Is the H100 affected by anything other than the coolant temp? That is, does the pump speed up if it senses the CPU is putting out heat? I've noticed my system makes this weird noise, kind of like a 40mm fan whine, when the CPU is under heavy load. As soon as I start something like video encoding or Prime95, I hear a constant noise that sounds like a small fan. It sounds nothing like the "pump noise" problem; the H100 is around 10 months old and has had zero problems of any kind.

I thought it might be the power supply fan spooling up in response to a higher load, but Furmark doesn't trigger the noise, and there's no way my GPU uses less power than my CPU.

I put my ear up to the case, and it seems to be coming from the CPU socket area. I thought it might be the H100's pump increasing its rpm. I know the fan RPM changes in response to coolant temp, so there is a bit of lag before the fans kick in; the noise I'm hearing happens as soon as the CPU is under load. I'm trying to rule out possible causes, so I'm posting here to ask if the H100 could be the cause. It's not a particularly loud noise, and is inaudible if the GPU's or H100's fans speed up, but I'm still curious.:o

my other candidate is the VRMs, although I believe they're solid state, and therefore immune to coil whine? not sure; board is an ASUS P8Z68-V Pro.

The pump speed remains constant no matter the load. Only the fans change speed.

the pump runs at a constant speed regardless of temp or load
if when it is cool and has no noise there id have to say its another component your hearing
sometimes noises can be hard to isolate in such a small area
a fan is most likely the cause

It doesn't sound like a pump issue. Sounds like a small fan? sort of high rpm fan noise?
